We spent five glorious nights and unforgettable days at this beautiful hotel last month. From the beginning (early on a Thursday morning from our transatlantic flight), my wife and I were greeted like family coming home after a long time away. Margot, Giusy, Anna, and Fiorenzo were superb hosts, making us feel special and welcome. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in Positano and I am excited to say that we chose the right place to stay. By good fortune, we were upgraded to a room with breathtaking views (I think it was #61) and it was all a dream experience from then on. Truly, one of the most magical moments there is breakfast on the terrace, where the great meals, coffee (and an occasional prosecco :) ) adds to a sublime experience unlike anywhere, likely in the world. Time stands still. The view of the city, with buildings clinging to the cliffs, the sounds of the sea, the smells your freshly brewed americano - and you swear you're in God's good grace in Heaven. Also, thank you to Luigi, and the angelic Alesia in the front desk for an unforgettable visit.

Wanted to share my experience to help other first time visitors of the positano area and hotel Poseidon. First and foremost this hotel feels nothing short of 5 stars from the location, beauty and service. Location - it was very tough for me to figure out where to stay whether it be lower of higher in positano. After 4 days you realize that positano is pretty much split into 3 levels. Bottom level has beautiful hotels and quick access to the beach, but to get to the main area with all the views and shopping you have to climb an enormous staircase and it’s pretty tough and exhausting. The mid level is where hotel Poseidon is and it’s step your on the “main road” that has ALL of the amazing views, restaurants and unlimited shipping. Honestly the place and location to be and hotel Poseidon gives you that. You can still make your way down to the lower area down the stairs but it’s really necessary to be on the middle level or you’ll be up and down those stairs a TON! SERVICE Hotel Poseidons staff goes above and beyond for anything you need. We had a couple issues come up and they were there for us and just one phone call away The views and food are spectacular from this hotel and the photos and style of room do it no justice online. You just have to see and feel the vibes of the city before you judge the hotel photos online! Book this hotel! You won’t regret it!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Poseidon! We opted for a suite, and the porch along was worth it. It was spacious with absolutely breathtaking views. The staff were friendly, helpful and so lovely. They really elevated the experience. The hotel is in a great location, the breakfast was nice, the restaurant for dinner is elite and the pool area is divine. I would highly recommend this hotel!!

“Look no further and stay here”

Positano is a special place. Positano is a special place. I'm a fast-paced kind of traveler who will usually try to pack every day of a trip full to the brim with museums, tours, activities, etc. (You may think I'm exaggerating, but I soaked my socks through with blood on a trip to Sweden a few weeks prior to this from walking so much.) Something wonderful about visiting Positano is that this is simply not an option there. You're forced to slow down, sleep in a little later, take that long lunch, nap on the beach, etc. It's a wonderful reminder to slow down and just savor the moment. And the scenery here is absolutely worth slowing down and savoring. The Hotel Poseidon is a place that would normally be wildly outside of my budget, but I am fortunate enough to live locally and be able to come on "off" days when it's a bit cheaper. I could not possibly recommend this place enough. The hotel is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, and the staff are warm and helpful. My first trip to Hotel Poseidon felt like coming home, even though I'd never been here before. I will certainly be making an annual tradition out of staying here in the lull of the tourist season, and I will recommend this property to any friends passing through. My only negative comment is that it is, of course, expensive. The restaurant and bar prices feel a bit steep for what you get. (I had two $30 pre-dinner cocktails back to back on an empty stomach and hardly even felt a buzz. Dinner was good, but I believe you could find something similar out in town for a better price.) That being said, the service, view, and convenience all justified the price for me.
