Cesare Augusto is a ten-minute walk from the Sorrento ferry terminal which gets you to Positano, Amalfi, Capri, Ischia, etc., a five-minute walk from the train station, and two minutes from fabulous shopping including a huge furniture store across the street, Gargiulo & Jannuzzi, filled with hand-made Italian designs they've been making since the 1800s. You're also five minutes from sunset views of Mt. Vesuvius. We loved this hotel. Check-in was quick and the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful in answering our questions. The room was clean and modern with a comfy bed, a balcony, a big closet that held all our stuff (I'm a heavy packer) and easy to operate shower (I have hotel shower issues. :) ) The bar was excellent and has a backyard garden and the breakfast was good enough if you avoid the undercooked bacon. The price was very reasonable especially considering the location and the luxe feel. Amazing restaurants within easy walking distance include Il Buco, which has a Michelin star, gorgeous decor, and was our favorite meal in Italy, and O'Puledrone which serves fresh seafood they catch daily-- the owner is a fisherman. Sorrento is known for gnocchi and risotto. Many shops have products only made in Italy. Some have made-in-China stuff, others are a mix. We loved Mary's Shop for genuine Italian leather-- my husband got a gorgeous leather backpack and I got a leather bag with lemons on it. I don't understand how anyone can give this hotel a poor review. We loved Sorrento-- you can walk around with drinks and Amorino has a stiff and tasty limoncello spritz-- and we loved Cesare Augusto.

“Luxury in Sorrento!”

Lovely hotel and breakfast! Great location to walk to historical Sorrento! Rooms were great. We were on the street side and the sound proofing was very good.

We spent 4 nights at the Grand Hotel Cesar Augusta in September 2025. Excellent location, near the train station and an easy 5 minute for the center of Sorrento where the fun restaurants and shops are. We found the staff helpful and courteous, helping us with an early check-in, advising on places to eat and also arranging for our transportation to Naples airport. Out room was large and clean, the bathroom was great, the pool area was a great place to relax at the end of the day. Breakfast was great and offered gluten free options. Would definitely recommend it to people traveling to Sorrento.
