Villa del Mare Resort is definitely a great place to stay along the Adriatic coast ot Emilia-Romagna region. We spent 4 nights in a junior suite on the 6th floor with a wonderful balcony, hot tub, and beautiful view of Cervia and of the sea. Positives things: • Great location and modern construction; • Great and kind personnel always with smile and ready to satisfy the needs; • Breakfast serves various types of food and drinks in outdoor-indoor locations; • Perfectly cleaning both common areas and rooms; • Cover car parking into a private on-site garage; • Nice swimming pool bar on top of the building with a good selection of cocktails. • Great place for single, couples and families. • The beach service at Bagno 169 was excellent and we love the positions and the persons there managing the beach, the bar, and the restaurant for the lunch. Things need to be improved: • Our suite was not a real suite but two bedrooms solution, missing a living room area. • The mini bar was limited to coke, water, and a few beers. No offer of wine or other alcoholics drinks. • Telephone was not working, so to speak with receptionists we needed to physically go downstairs, until they gave us a WhatsApp access; • They do not have a standard room service, and this was a surprise considering the Hotel is a 4starts Superior hotel. When we asked, they messaged that we could order drinks in the rooms with an extra charge, but it was more a sort of favor for us; • The restaurant, located at the top of the building close to the bar, is a beautiful place with visible kitchen and three chefs working. The dishes offered at la carte are modern and international style, but we did not entirely appreciate the results. We spent only the first evening dinner, and we ended up going outside because despite the high quality of the raw material, the results were not aligned with our expectations. Travelling in that part of Italy, we were expecting more traditional local cuisine based on selection of visible different fresh fish (pescato del giorno), local pasta, as a mix of tradition and innovation. • Wine selection, despite a good wine list, in some cases the years of wine do not match what it is written on paper. We understand it is a small thing, not important for large majority of people, but it is an important detail for a hotel of that level.

Basic hotel on the beachside. Yes it good and clean. If you visit outside the seasons you will be quite alone for the tings around. You have a 2,5 k walk to the Cervia city.

Let’s start with the good stuff Our room (624) was gorgeous: spacious, stylish, and comfortable, with a large bed, a walk-in dressing area, a huge bathroom, and best of all — a private rooftop terrace with sea view and a jacuzzi. Honestly, we felt like celebrities… at least for a moment. There's a secure underground garage (€21/day), and the elevator brings you straight to your room. Which is great, because dragging luggage through hallways in your swimsuit is not the vibe. AREAS THAT NEED A BIT MORE LOVE (AND MAYBE STAFF TRAINING) • Reception The check-in was... not exactly warm. The receptionist didn’t mention anything about the room or jacuzzi. She simply handed over the key and said it was on the “second floor” — which is interesting, because we were very clearly staying on the sixth. A creative approach to floor numbering, perhaps? Asking basic questions like “How do we get to the pool?” or “Where is the spa?” felt like we were disturbing her peace. The answers were vague at best and slightly annoyed at worst. We were told the spa cost €29 per person. I mentioned I had read it was included for stays of 4 nights or more. The answer? “Not for you.” (Ouch.) Turns out it was included. Someone, somewhere, needs a better script. • Pool Scene The pool closes at 6 PM. Yes — 6 PM. Apparently, the sun goes down early in their universe. After that, it transforms into a cocktail bar. Sounds fun, right? Except it was just us and some sad lounge chairs. Speaking of lounge chairs, the cushions were so worn out, they could’ve starred in their own documentary. Leaves in the pool, no towels in sight, and when we asked for some, it was a full-on treasure hunt. Staff at the pool said “ask reception.” Reception said, “we ran out, maybe check back at 4.” There were only 7 people at the pool, so unless someone was building a towel fort, this was a bit confusing. We ended up using the bathroom towels and requested new ones later from housekeeping. Five stars for creativity. • In-Room Amenities For a room that costs over €400 per night, a coffee machine wouldn’t be too much to ask, right? We had a kettle — and our imagination. The rooftop terrace furniture looked great — but sadly, no cushions. So, we admired the view while sitting slightly uncomfortably. • Breakfast Adventures Breakfast runs “until 10:30,” but by 10:00, it was mostly a game of spot the leftovers. No refills, just vibes. In the lift, it clearly says you can have breakfast buffet-style or in your room. So on the last morning, we thought: let’s treat ourselves! Room service breakfast! Surprise: €15 service charge (fine) plus €36 for the food — even though breakfast was already included. When we questioned this, we were told it’s “more extensive.” Not sure how two croissants and a yogurt were more extensive than the full buffet downstairs. So, €51 extra for a breakfast we already paid for. That’s one expensive cup of orange juice. • Spa Rainy day? Great time to try the spa! Except… it looked like no one had tidied up in hours. Towels everywhere, chaotic vibe, and a general sense that everyone was just winging it. The poor massage therapist seemed to be doing everything: treatments and locker room cleanup. There were two jacuzzis: one was completely empty (maybe it needed a nap?), and the other one had water that made us think twice. CONCLUSION This hotel could be amazing. The building is beautiful, the rooms are stunning, and the view is truly top-tier. But the service? Let’s just say it’s still on vacation. If management put just a little more love into the guest experience — from friendlier reception to clearer info and actual towel availability — this place could be much better. As it stands, Still, we made the best of it and had a good laugh or two — which, at the end of the day, is part of any memorable trip.
