We were on vacation at this hotel with my wife and daughter. Overall the experience was a great good surprise. We certainly didn't expect hotels in Italy to have embraced the full board model as in other Mediterranean countries. Read on for the details: Location The hotel is very well positioned for a family/quiet vacation. It is third in line from the road which ensures it is quiet at day and night when the promenade gets busy. Sea & Sand Was exactly what one would expect from sandy Adriatic beaches. Shallow for adults but perfect and warm for our 3 year old daughter. Restaurant We stayed for 10 days. We never had the same dish twice! Of course first course is in most cases pasta, but then, questa e la casa della pasta. By the way, we never had the same type of pasta either. Most importantly, you could chose between different options one day in advance. Elsewhere under full board or all inclusive models everybody gets served the same things. Service I don't know if it can get better at 4star hotels! Two different types of menus could be chosen one day in advance but still the staff would try to accommodate if you change your mind and go for chicken menu instead of fish! Half of the days I would even forget what I had opted for the day earlier (a clear indication my brain was on vacation!) Lola and Anna would even try to fix food out of the "menu" and that's far beyond what is expected under the efficiencies and rigidness of the all inclusive/full board model as it puts extreme strain on kitchen and serving staff. After all this is not a-la-carte. So tip Lola and Anna as they do beyond what is expected under the model the hotel operates. We had the same experience with other staff including those at reception. Very often they would treat us with free espresso, water or draft beer. Room It is exactly as in the pictures. Somewhat small but far larger than what you get in hotels in Rome for example. Most importantly: - the bed was good - it has air conditioning (most hotels in the area don't have air conditioning which was totally strange considering temperatures were 35-37 during the day in August.) - the TV is old. I don’t know or understand people that watch TV while on vacation. Activities The manager will surprise you from time to time with free buffets, cocktails, aperitivo, live music and/or karaoke. I chose the username "xhonlenon incazato" following one such live performance at the hotel. The singer was really bad at a John Lennon song only for a guest to fully surprise everyone by taking over from her and delivering a superb performance. So un saluto a tutti to the guests during mid-august, you were all great too:) Best Value Overall We stayed for 10 days and had a "full board booking=hotel, food, drinks, parking, wifi, beach umbrella+beds". If we had eaten out, just the cost of similar quality food (free wine and water, open buffet, two course menu, + cake/fruit/ice-cream) would have set us back the whole amount we paid per person/day. If arranging or paying separately you would pay 10euro for umbrellas, at least 30 for 2-3course menu. So my tip is to go for full board (tutto incluso).
