“Spectacular views and lots of space”

Can't beat the view. We stayed in Room 2. It was large (2 bedroom), had everything we needed, and was clean. Francesca was very helpful with directions and communication was great. She gave us a heads up that bad weather was coming and most restaurants were closing. She got us a reservation before we arrived at one that remained open. The terrace overlooks the whole town of Manarola and the coast of Cinque Terre. You can sit there and enjoy the view and the sun sets just to your left. It takes some effort to get to the house from the train station, but you wouldn't have the view it you didn't have to walk up the cliff. Staying at ground level just wouldn't be the same. We visited all five villages and, overall, think staying in Manarola was the right choice. It has the best views, is active during the day but not too crazy at night. We had three great dinners. If you don't want to climb hills/stairs, then maybe Monterosso might be the place to stay. Getting around on the train that serves the five villages is really easy so it doesn't really matter where you stay so you might as well stay here. Just a heads up, if you go to Corniglia, there are about a million steps from the train station to the town. It wasn't as bad as it looked but I can't imagine staying there. They do have a small bus that runs from the train station to the town, but the line can be long. It's worth visiting however.

We spent four nights in Room 3 at Affittacamere San Giorgio in early October. The room has a terrace that overlooks Manarola and the water. I was concerned about getting our luggage from the train station to our room. As it turns out, it was a little bit of a trek to the room but Manarola is hilly and many other rooms were much more difficult. So overall, we really appreciated the fact that it was relatively close to the train station. We used the table on the terrace quite a bit. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Manarola was a good choice for us. It's busy during the day but very quiet and enjoyable at night. We had dinner at Trattoria dal Billy one night which was delicious and had two good dinners at Cantina Burasca.

“Incredible room, dream come true experience!”

Such a beautiful room (the one built into the cliff). Very very clean. Excellent communication with host. Provided a mobile phone with free data and local/international calls. Such a beautiful room (the one built into the cliff). Very very clean. Excellent communication with host. Provided a mobile phone with free data and local/international calls. Also provided beach towels, restaurant recommendations, snacks, teas etc, kettle, toaster, cutlery, plates and cups. Everything you need. Also had an amazing view of the town and sea from the balcony! Out of the way of tourists, in a quiet area but not far to walk to from the station and rest of town. Definitely recommend, we would come back if we could.

Absolutely lovely accommodations - very clean room,beautiful view, comfy bed, coffee and tea makers available, stocked mini fridge, large bathroom, hot shower. Definitely recommend this amazing place! This was our first time in Manarola so we didn’t fully understand the concept of a town built on a hill. The Main Street through town is a steep hill and there are a lot of steps…. so think twice if you have any health or mobility issues. We made a critical error upon arrival… we turned the wrong way and because our gps happily recalculated, we blindly followed it. Follow these directions to avoid the same mistake…. Come out of the train tunnel and turn RIGHT. Go up, up, up the hill past the church until you see a little sign for Trattoria Billy’s on your right. It will be on a stonewall and the steps are behind the wall. Then go UP 50 steps and then follow the sidewalk to #175 on your left. Then you will go up a few steps to a sidewalk that takes you to the door. Then once inside go down the hallway and it is another 15 steps to your room. If you happen to go left out of the tunnel, your gps WILL take you there, but it will take you down a street and then UP about 300 steps…. LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE!!! Turn RIGHT OUT OF THE TRAIN TUNNEL!great location!
