A great hotel with historic significance, very fascinating! We felt very welcome. The staff is hospitable and accommodating. Thank you Francesco, Valentina e Patrizia for making us feel at home. Excellent location close to the cathedral and many restaurants. Parking is a little bit of a problem but the hotel has a plan in place to help the guests solve it. Thank you!

“Beautifully restored 13th century convent”

We stayed for four nights at the S.Martin in May'23. It was like living in a beautiful museum, with artefacts everywhere. We stayed for four nights at the S.Martin in May'23. It was like living in a beautiful museum, with artefacts everywhere. The location is perfect in the old town, historic, peaceful with no cars and overlooking the Adriatic. Our room, on the third floor, was clean and spacious, rustic with a slightly cramped bathroom, however, it is a converted 13th century convent… Very enjoyable breakfasts seated in the central courtyard. Maybe not a great place to stay if you are driving, however we got about on foot and via the cheap train line (Giovinazzo station 10-12 min walk from hotel) that runs along the coast which serves all the lovely seaside towns (Trani, Polignano & Monopoli our favourites).

Located in an old monastery with quirky rooms (probably remodeled a while back but impeccably clean), this hotel distinguishes itself for the genuine hospitality of the people who work there and who seem to care about the customer experience. For example, on a night when it was pouring rain, the receptionist and the manager worked hard to get us a dinner delivered! They actually cared and were concerned about our wellbeing. The facilities themselves run to the more basic—but are spotlessly clean! We appreciated that we were provided a machine against the mosquitoes (upon request) and that we could close the shutters and have darkness. The church bells are a welcome addition and they stop ringing at night. Rooms 206, 211 and 212 had trouble with the internet and the hotel is working with the provider to solve the issue. The breakfast buffet had authentic Italian desserts and breads—and some small local ricotta cheese that was exceptional. The bed was very firm and the pillows rather flat, but we were so tired we slept very well. The location is perfect as there many restaurants minutes away and the charming port is also nearby, people should be aware that you cannot reach the hotel by car—hence it is best to pack lightly! The front desk arranged for our car transportation to and from the station.
