I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Giancarlo De Venuto, the manager of the Hilton Hotel, for his kindness and support. After spending four days in such a pleasant environment, surrounded by caring, warm, and attentive staff, we unfortunately faced a serious problem with our car at the time of departure. Mr. De Venuto did everything he could to assist us, and we are truly grateful for his help, his kindness, and his availability.

Situated slightly to the north of the ring road this is a comfortable hotel for a visit to Lecce. Situated in a residential area next to a pleasant large green space the location is quiet, but is a 20 minute walk to get to the start of the main attractions in Lecce. But like Lecce, the route it is very flat and there is a very good gelato store on the junction with which was a good point to aim for after a day spent exploring this amazing town. We had a comfortable modern room with a massive king sized bed. Yes the mattress was very firm but that’s Italy for you. The air con was superbly efficient and as our room was on the west facing side, the small Balcony caught the last of the setting sun in the afternoon. There was adequate storage room and the wi-fi worked well throughout the hotel. Our room had a functional modern bathroom with a walk in shower cubicle with an excellent rain forest shower head. Some very good toiletries provided in both the shower and the sink area which included a very good moisturiser. Only ate breakfast in the hotel but this was very good and although there was the usual small section of hot trays, the focus was on continental and local breads and cakes, which you would expect. There was always a sizeable queue for the coffee machines, but if you were happy with filter coffee or tea you could circumvent this once you discovered the table these were hidden on. There is a nice roof top pool but not heated, so too cold to use this time of year, but it’s a pleasant spot to relax on a sun bed when the weather is warm enough and there are good elevated views of the surrounding area.

Its hard to rate this property as 3 means average and the customer service was a one. Front desk staff not helpful in answering questions or providing assistance, they were very slow and acted put out with even a simple request for assistance. I guess their job is just to check you in and out, I have never experienced this sort of service from a front desk of a hotel before. 75 f degrees is too warm for sleeping! I had to be creative to keep the window open, it wanted to swing close. There was no breeze and even though it was lovely outside, it was a true challenge to cool off the room. We couldn't, the warmth caused our sleep to be poor. The hotel controls the temperature, you have no control from your room. Hilton Garden Inn Lecce seems to cater to bus groups, which overtook the breakfast area, there was enough seats but far too crowded for first service. That said, the scrambled eggs were excellent.

Just off the city centre in a quiet location the hotel is easily accessible. Very clean and tidy with pleasant and helpful staff the decor and fittings have seen better days. The rooftop pools was was an advantage if a tad noisy. The breakfast was on the good side of adequate but the one evening meal we had ere was delicious. I do not know about value for money as we were part of a group.. it would be a good 3 star but not really a four star.
