“Luxury in a beautifully hidden part of Puglia!”

We had the pleasure of staying here for a couple of nights in May 2023 to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel, location and staff were all amazing. In particular the staff - Lorenzo and Carmella were very accommodating, ensuring all our needs were met at all times. As did the entire team there. A real sense of strong teamwork geared towards making their guests feel completely welcome at all times. The rooms are amazing. The pool and jacuzzi is good. And during late May , the hotel is still quite quiet so you can certainly relax. Our favourite part was breakfast overlooking the Castro, southern Puglia Adriatic coastline. A beautiful view. About 500 meters away is an amazing little peach hidden away in an alcove surrounded by cliffs and pine trees. The water is crystal clear as you would imagine for this part of the world. We will definitely try and get to stay at the Marenea Suite hotel again in the near future. Fully recommended holiday location for a relaxing break in genuine luxury.

“Great stay”

Beautiful property and rooms. We had wonderful service from all staff from concierge (Lorenzo and Marta), wait staff and housekeeping. Beautiful property and rooms. We had wonderful service from all staff from concierge (Lorenzo and Marta), wait staff and housekeeping. The breakfast is included and was wonderful; the restaurant overlooks the sea. Not many restaurants close by…. But just a 10 minute drive to beautiful Castro and you will have great food. We loved eating at la grotto del conte.

“Lovely stay”

The service really was unbeatable, our hire car broke down while we were there, they did everything to help us- contacted the car company, arranged the replacement etc. They had buggies to drive us down to the beach and beach club- both gorgeous… more

We spent 5 nights here in a superior suite, loved it. The service really was unbeatable, our hire car broke down while we were there, they did everything to help us- contacted the car company, arranged the replacement etc. They had buggies to drive us down to the beach and beach club- both gorgeous, beach club perfect place to settle in for the day with shade etc, and a short walk along the boardwalk to the public beach which is the best place to swim. Breakfast was lovely. The resort itself felt beautifully quiet even though it was full, bungalows are luxuriously spaced and surrounded by gardens full of olive trees. Pool in the resort is nice and beautiful little daybeds throughout the garden to relax. The general location of the resort is fantastic, this area is the best coastline in Puglia. Only real downsides were 1) the restaurant in the hotel was not great for dinner, so you're best to go out for dinner, but Castro (10min drive) has some fantastic places and is beautiful, 2) There seemed to be some issues probably associated with being in a fairly rural area- major problems with power/internet, the internet was down for 2-3 days of our stay and the power went off completely two nights, causing some weird problems with lights all going on in the middle of the night and the aircon had to be reset several times, but the staff were super helpful in fixing that pretty fast. Overall, a wonderful stay in a beautiful area, perfect to explore the southern part of Puglia- you MUST have a car if you're staying here- there's very little within walking distance. But driving down the coastline towards Leuca stopping at the little grottas and beaches along the way for a day was such a highlight- and once you get to Leuca (40min), get a boat tour of the caves. Magical.

Beautiful hotel. All rooms are spread out a bit, with sea views. The pool is okay but a bit outdated. The jacuzzi near the pool wasn't working, and the water fountains in the pool didn’t work on the first day but did on the second. Reception and luggage service: perfect and friendly. Breakfast is bad : it’s served in a much too warm room, with all the windows closed and the air conditioning blasting, yet it was still 29.5°C inside. The croissants were already gone when we arrived. You really have to ask for juice (not fresh squeezed) or coffee, even though the lady and gentleman had already walked past five times without making eye contact. We only had breakfast once. Although breakfast was included in the price, we chose to have it in the village on a pleasant terrace instead. We had a rooftop terrace with a jacuzzi, which was enjoyable. There is no espressomachine in the room, only warm water and nescaffee. That in Italia ! Luckely we had our own espressomachine with us. Cleaningservice room was perfect. Private parking close to the room was available. Overall, it's more of a 4-star hotel than a 5-star. All in all, it’s okay but on the expensive side for what you finally get.
