Our stay at Cala Ponte in Polignano a Mare was nothing short of exceptional. The location was perfect for us, about a 25–30 minute walk to the historic center and just a few minutes from the marina. If you don’t feel like walking, the hotel can arrange a tuk-tuk ride into town, which was a nice touch. The property itself is beautiful, surrounded by olive trees and well-maintained gardens that create a peaceful atmosphere. The pool is stunning, and our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. While the rooms are tastefully designed, they could be more functional. Storage space is limited, and adding more drawers or shelves to the closet would make longer stays much easier. What truly sets Cala Ponte apart is its incredible staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. They arranged our taxis, winery visits, tours, and even our rental car, making everything completely stress-free. A special thank you to Domenico at the front desk, who was in touch with us before we even arrived and went above and beyond to help with every request. We’d also like to recognize Claudia, Luna, and Rosangela at reception; Vittoria and Mirko at the bar; Maurizio at the pool; and the golf cart drivers Gianmario, Lucio, and Gioele. Their kindness and professionalism made our stay memorable. We almost didn’t book Cala Ponte because of some mixed reviews we had read, and we’re so glad we decided to experience it for ourselves. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The only area that could use some improvement is the bar. The drinks and food were good but didn’t quite match the high standard set by the rest of the hotel. Overall, Cala Ponte provided one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences we’ve had, thanks largely to its outstanding team. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again when we return to Polignano a Mare.

Our stay at Cala Ponte was exceptional, and what made it truly memorable was the people. We arrived after the airline had lost all of our luggage. Naturally, our family was feeling stressed and uncomfortable. When I explained the situation to Alberto, the General Manager, I started to tell him that he was in a position to make us feel very comfortable despite the circumstances. Before I could finish, he interrupted me with a smile and said, “It is my job.” That moment perfectly captured who he is. Alberto has tremendous pride in the property, a deep appreciation for hospitality, and an instinctive understanding of what guests are experiencing. He immediately helped us with the room we had requested and made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived. His level of service, professionalism, and emotional intelligence is rare and cannot be taught. Alberto is an outstanding General Manager and a tremendous ambassador for the property. The reception team, Luna, Rosangelo, and Domenico, followed his example. Every interaction was warm, professional, and genuine. Their service always began and ended with gratitude, and they consistently went above and beyond. They are true hospitality professionals. What impressed us most was that this culture extended throughout the entire resort. Whether we were interacting with management, reception, bell staff, restaurant staff, breakfast attendants, or the pool team, the experience was remarkably consistent. Everyone seemed genuinely invested in creating a great stay for their guests. The property itself is beautiful. The landscaping is still maturing, but even now it is impressive. We can already imagine how spectacular it will be in a few years, when each room feels surrounded by its own private countryside garden. We look forward to returning and seeing how the grounds continue to develop. The pool deserves special recognition. It is one of the most beautiful and thoughtfully designed pools we encountered during our travels. Large enough for swimming laps, it features a beach-style entry, expansive shallow areas for families, and a layout that feels both inviting and surprisingly private. Whether you want to relax, swim, or spend the day with children, the design works exceptionally well. Cala Ponte is also an outstanding base for exploring Puglia. Many of the region’s most beautiful destinations, including Lecce, Ostuni, Alberobello, Monopoli, and Polignano a Mare itself, are within easy driving distance. After long days of sightseeing, it was a pleasure to return to a true full-service resort where everything was taken care of. The combination of location, amenities, and hospitality makes it an ideal home base for discovering the region. The bell staff, Mirko, Luciano, and Gioele, were incredibly kind and accommodating, especially with our young son, who was fascinated by the golf carts. They always took the time to make him smile and helped make our stay feel effortless. At the pool, Maurizio was one of the most attentive professionals I have ever encountered. He was constantly focused on guest safety while also providing exceptional service. He kept an eye on our son, alerted us to potential hazards, and adjusted umbrellas countless times without ever making us feel like we were inconveniencing him. He represents the highest standard of hospitality and care. During dinner service, Ilaria made our family feel completely welcome. Traveling with a young child can sometimes be stressful at restaurants, but she reassured us that Cala Ponte is a place for families and made us feel comfortable from the moment we sat down. The food and beverage program deserves special recognition. The breakfast was exceptional and became one of the highlights of our stay. The quality of the ingredients, variety of offerings, and level of service exceeded our expectations every morning. The restaurant was equally impressive. Too often, hotel restaurants are convenient but forgettable. That was not the case here. The food was creative, thoughtful, and beautifully executed while remaining rooted in the flavors of the region. We found ourselves looking forward to meals at the hotel just as much as meals in the surrounding towns. Breakfast was made even more special by Ivan, Rita, and Aka, who treated our son like a little prince. They brought him berries and anything else they could find to keep him happy and well-fed, always with a smile and a genuine desire to help. Their kindness made every morning memorable. Finally, Mirko at the bar deserves a mention. At one point during our stay, he simply walked over and encouraged us to try some fresh cherries. He had no idea we were checking out or writing a review; it was just a genuine gesture. It perfectly captured the culture at Cala Ponte: the focus is not on completing a transaction, but on creating a memorable experience for guests. While we have done our best to recognize by name the team members we interacted with most frequently, it is important to note that these qualities were not limited to those individuals. Every member of the staff we encountered displayed the same warmth, professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine desire to create an exceptional guest experience. The consistency of the service across the entire property was perhaps the most impressive aspect of our stay. As longtime Marriott Bonvoy members who have held both Platinum Elite and Ambassador Elite status over the years, we have stayed at many Marriott properties around the world. Cala Ponte stands out not only for the beauty of the property, but for the consistency of its service culture across every department. Thank you to Alberto and the entire team for turning a stressful start to our trip into one of the most enjoyable hotel stays our family has ever had. We cannot wait to return.

This hotel was lovely. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Conveniently located near Polignani a Mare and Monopoli. A nice walk into town with great views of the ocean. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and water are available in the room and replenished daily. The lagoon pool was beautiful with plenty of umbrellas and loungers. We had an issue with our rental car early in the morning on our day of departure. The staff helped us contact the rental car company, helped secure a transfer to the airport quickly, and handled the pick up of the car with the rental car company. Definitely would stay here again!

“Good hotel with drawbacks”

A lovely hotel with a great pool area. The staff were excellent. The disappointing features were a very expensive breakfast and a restaurant with no one there so zero atmosphere.
