“Right place”

This place is very nice. Food amazing. Staff cordial. Educate.you can have a nice sea food then go to the fabolouse beach of Vieste.the visit Foresta Umbra. Have a lots to do. Best period but busy is Aug. But I like born my self. And get some more kg, because the food is unic,

“Short break”

We only booked three nights at this site. It was great. So clean and the staff so helpful. Beautiful pool and restaurant. The receptionist,Leonarda was particularly helpful when our car broke down so was the minibus driver who got it fixed for us.

My husband, 3 year old daughter and I arrived at this lovely accommodation at 3am in the morning on 25th June 2017 following a very annoyingly and rather lengthy procedure for car hire at Bari Airport, not forgetting that the drive to Defensola from the Airport is just under 3 hours. However when we arrived although the lovely gentleman on reception did not speak much English he managed to figure out who we were and kindly showed us to our apartment, informing us to check in at 9am later on. As we were so tired all we did was get into bed as soon as possible, however as we had not paid for the A/C at that point we ended up sleeping with the doors open and the outer metal doors locked which unfortunately let in a lot of mosquitos, subsequently I noticed that their was in fact a mosquito net that could be pulled across the metal doors. Later on in the morning we checked in and the lady at reception was very friendly and helpful, although she did not speak much English it was very pleasant talking to her, at this point we also managed to pay for the A/C and also for the in room Safe, which was much needed as the temperature at this time of the year was great. The rooms were very clean and tidy and there was sufficient space for the 3 of us. The shower cubicle was tiny even for one person let alone trying to give my 3 year old a shower in there as well, this is definitely something that could be improved especially for families with young children. It would also be extremely useful if the hotel provided towels for guests rather than having to bring our own or pay for them. The pool and the pool bar were very clean and not over crowded which is just want you need, Marco behind the bar was very friendly and always smiling which was nice to see. The first day in the pool we were not aware that we had to wear swimming caps, so Marco gave them to us and was kind enough to let us pay him later. There is a little shop on site which sells milk, bread, eggs etc which was extremely useful for us seeing that on the first day we had no where to shop for breakfast, the lady in the shop was absolutely lovely and always said 'Ciao' every time we saw her, another one with a friendly smile always. There is also a restaurant on site serving pizza, pasta, fish amongst other Italian specialities, this however does close at 14.30 after lunch like many others in the town of Vieste. The entertainers from Sky Village were also good, with entertainment often going on until 23.30, although we could hear it from our apartment as we were pool facing it did not bother us much as we were mostly awake at that time. The entertainment was in Italian, however they were so welcoming it didn't matter whether you understood it or not. Federico and Josie were always trying to get everyone involved which was lovely. It was also nice as the entertainment every day was different unlike some places where it can get repetitive. Overall our stay was very relaxed which was just what we wanted, we spent time by the pool, visited local beaches and the Vieste harbour, old town and ate a lot of delicious food and drank some lovely wine. As we had a car we were able to get about with ease especially with a young one, as a car in this region is certainly recommended. the location of the hotel in Gargano national park is just stunning and would hands down recommend this place to anyone looking to visit. Another plus point was that we were the only Brits in the resort which made a big difference as we got to experience what the Italians were like rather than the resort catering to lots of British tourists. It was an area known for Italian tourists, therefore this did mean that not much English was spoken in the region, but it gave us an opportunity to pick up some Italian. Everyone we met be it hotel staff, entertainers, waiters/waitresses other tourists they were all very welcoming, friendly and all loved my little one calling her 'Bellisimo' everywhere we went.
