This is our 12th visit to this piece of heaven. The trouble with giving a good review is that people will go there and I love it and don't want it spoiled !!!! To start the hotel is peaceful , tasteful and super stylish and its where you can go and you know that you will be treated with the upmost respect and all the staff will endeavour to help you relax. Claudio , Rosa ,Roberto , Alessandro and the team are exceptional with Claudia preparing the finest breakfasts every day, their kindness is wonderful. This year we missed the presence of Dino and of course Mario who were both super efficient and excelled at hospitality and we felt that it would have been nice to have a more present manager but, that made no difference to the stay as the reception team headed by the wonderful Maria Lucia dealt with every question superbly.If I could I would go back and stay the entire summer but , I shall return next year as every year it gets harder to leave those fantastic people we now call friends .

“Magical”

This surely must be one of the best hotels in the world. Located on a promontory in NE Sardinia on a secluded estate with private beach/sea access, the location is truly magnificent. It is quite small with about 80 suites/rooms spread over extensive carefully maintained gardens. There are four restaurants including one (Ile Flottante) on the edge of the sea - where you can almost dip your toes in the water as the sun goes down. The cuisine in all the restaurants is superb. But the best of all is the staff who make you feel at home - and, without exception, are truly wonderful. Many of the staff have been there for many years - including Claudio and Rosa (both 38 years !!!). It is not surprising that many of the guests return year after year. Needless to say, it is very expensive ! But worth every penny for a magical experience.

“Not a 5 Star Resort”

My husband and I chose Capo d'Orso to celebrate our 21st anniversary, expecting the luxury experience of a 5-star resort. Instead, it was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we've had on this trip. Our room was located directly next to the restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner, making it unbearably noisy from early morning until late at night. No guest room should ever be in this location. When we complained, reception's solution was to bring us earplugs (even though we paid approximately $8,000 for a six-night stay, not including meals or $25 a pop cocktails you bring me $2.00 earplugs). The general manager, Alexander, called me that evening and initially right off the bat tried to justify that he GAVE (his words) me the room with the bigger balcony. First, he gave me nothing. I paid for this room. Second, I never asked anything about a balcony this was kind of irrelevant to my complaint. Third what good is a balcony with zero privacy. The worker and guests can see us and we can see them. I have attached pictures and you can see it overlooks the buffet. After going back and forth frustrated on my holiday Alexander’s only resolution was to offer us a different room the day before we were leaving, after we had already spent virtually our entire vacation dealing with the noise. That was not a meaningful solution. They clearly do not care here that has been mad very clear by General Management. To make matters worse, garbage sat outside our room for the entire week. This is simply not the level of service or attention to detail expected from a 5-star resort. I've included photos so others can see exactly what we experienced. Room 212
