We have been here 14 days. We had an appartement for 2 persons. Very nice, complete and clean. We felt very welcome. Although it was the end of the season we had a great time at this place in Sardinia. From Villa Antonina you can travel to many great spots like Olbia (15 minutes) and Palau (45 minutes). From Palau you can take the ferry to Maddalena, a great Island to drive around and take a swim in one of the beautifull bays. Also when you like to dive there are many good diving schools for day trips. We loved it to stay at Villa Antonina and Sardinia. We willcome back for sure!

Villa Antonina, or Baia de Bahas Exclusive as it is also known, is a great place and location as a base for one of the most beautiful islands in Europe if not the World. Tucked away in picturesque Golfo di Marinella it is in easy reach of both Olbia Airport and the famous Costa Smerelda. At the time we stayed (mid June) the whole area was extremely quiet, despite excellent warm and sunny weather. I would recommend Sardinia to anyone prepared to hire a car and explore the fabulous beaches and eat the equally fabulous food at this time of the year and was amazed that more people, particularly British, don't do so. Back to the apartment/villa itself. With the caveat that the place was almost empty (we only encountered two other couples staying at the Villa Antonina) it was very quiet, relaxed and peaceful. I was borderline 3 'blobs' for my rating, but plumped for 4 in the end as the following 'Pros' ended up outweighing the 'Cons' list. Pros : Quiet and secluded and indeed exclusive hidden behind it's own gate and path. Very well kept landscaping and pool area and every element was kept clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly, though only a couple of ladies spoke any English. A big well done to Silvana in particular for all her help and advice throughout our stay. The mini-complex is sited within easy walking of the local beaches, but even closer are the Il Segreto restaurant (see separate review but note that they do an excellent takeaway pizza service as well as finer dining) and the best on-site supermarket that we've ever experienced. Though small it carries an excellent range of fresh produce (with the possible exception of Sardinian bread which is an acquired taste!) and at prices surprisingly cheaper than the bigger supermarket in nearby Porto Retondo. The pool is large and very clean and the sunloungers are plentiful (allocated to each apartment) and comfortable with overhead screens to shade you while you read. We rented a studio apartment for two adults with the kitchen and dining table in a large room with the ample double bed and an en suite off the main room. Everything was tidy and clean on arrival and the shower and hot water supply was spot on. Cons : The only grumbles really relate to the apartment itself because you can't fault the location or exterior areas at all (other than general advice to watch where you park your hire car as Italians don't seem too bothered about opening their car doors onto yours! There is a large deposit required on arrival (150 euros in cash) which is a bit excessive in my opinion, but there was no problem getting it back after Silvana inspected the room the night before our early departure. The extra charge for a late arrival (20 euros for a 10pm arrival) was a bit much, particularly given the receptionist's language limitation and the consequent lack of information supplied. The wi-fi is fine for normal use and I even managed to get my Chromecast working with Netflix on the small TV unit, but it did drop out a couple of times as the maestrale blew in. That said, the reception team were very helpful in rebooting the system once they were made aware of the problem. Though the equipment in the apartment was generally new and sufficient you should be aware that there was no oven or microwave, no tea-towels (there are now if they kept ours!) and no mugs (also there are now if they kept ours!). The toiletries advertised in the website were extremely limited and there was typically an absence of washing up liquid etc. Be aware that there is no towel change, even for a 10 day stay, so you will need to do some washing, and there is only one additional pillow (so ask Silvana for another and she will happily supply it for you). And on the subject of the bed, be prepared for a very hard mattress in this unit (apartment 2). We could also have done with a small sofa to relax on as the only options were the bed or the dining chairs. Finally I found it unusual for a place that advertises itself as 'exclusive' that there was no welcome pack or information pack present. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to provide either, with the latter helping to answer many simple questions without having to walk to the reception office (such as where to we empty our bins). So that's it, warts and all as per my usual TA reviews. Would we return? Yes, though we would probably now prefer to tour the island staying at small Agriturismo places instead. Would we recommend Villa Antonina? Definitely yes. And I reckon that it would make for a fantastic base for a large wedding party to hire the entire complex (and hold the wedding down on the shoreline at the nearby Oasi Beach restaurant!
