“Excellent”

Excellent place to stay. I really enjoyed and appreciated the room, the service and the food. Breakfast is fantastic, great coffee too!!! I highly recommend also to who has an early departure next day. I will definitely be back.

Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. We stayed here for 3 nights with friends. The hotel isn’t in the best location as there aren’t many amenities nearby apart from a supermarket and pharmacy. We hired a car and would drive into Olbia town which is nice, we had lunch a couple of times and went once for dinner. On day we drove to Palau, which is 1 hour drive away and on the marina front negotiated a great deal with a skipper to take us around the islands. I’d definitely recommend this as its so worth going to see the crystal clear turquoise waters. Amazing! The pool area overlooks a mussel farm and ferry moor which you couldn’t see when you were laying on a sunbed or in the pool. We hired cars so we could explore the Costa Smeralda and I’m very glad we did. We didn’t spend all day by the pool but when we did the pool bar was rarely manned. Nonetheless it was pleasant as we mostly had the pool are to ourselves but expect this is because we went when it was out of season. The pool towel situation is quite strange as they charge you €5 for every clean towel after the first free one. However, having heard of this before when staying at hotels in Sardenia, I wasn’t surprised. We weren’t impacted as we were mostly out during the day. The other strange thing is that they took €300 deposit in case you forgot to pay for drinks or damaged the room. We were refunded at the end of our stay however, I didn’t feel comfortable with this at all. I know most hotels take a credit card number as security but have never heard of taking this at check in. Food choice was sub standard but the quality was ok. It would have been nice to have more choice and not just ‘vegetable soup’ or beef. Considering we were by the coast I would have expected more of a choice of fish, (like bass, bream, salmon, tuna, swordfish) whereas for 2 of the 3 nights we were served cuttlefish. There was a good variety of food at breakfast, none of us had the scrambled eggs as they looked off colour. But the rest of the choice was good. The staff were mostly pleasant. We were mostly served by a great waiter, Silvestre who worked so hard everyday and made us feel comfortable. All in all, as far as 4 star hotels in Italy go, it was comfortable, clean with ok food. Would consider staying again.

“Lovely hotel but a few things to be aware of..”

To begin with the hotel itself is lovely, especially the infinity pool. Definitely the highlight of the hotel. It was nice to stay in a more private location as there was always sun beds available. To begin with the hotel itself is lovely, especially the infinity pool. Definitely the highlight of the hotel. It was nice to stay in a more private location as there was always sun beds available. The pool area is also lovely especially in the evening with the sea views. The pool shower was good especially if you had an afternoon flight like us it was nice to be able to shower after checkout. The breakfast is very good and has a diverse range, the staff at breakfast also can't do enough for you. Again with the pool bar staff very polite and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and very clean (pillows aren't the best but we requested extra at reception). The aircon in the room also doesn't work well but this was more manageable than expected.. Now a few things to be mindful of or I wish I knew before booking. 1. The most frustrating thing for was not being able to leave the hotel. Taxis are hard to come by, we asked the hotel to book us some and this wasn't possible sometimes. We actually got stranded in olbia until half 12 at night due to no taxis wanted to go this way. This wasn't the hotels fault but again on arrival if we were aware that is a reoccurring problem and the need for pre booking is the only way to get one we would have been more prepared. 2. No food or drink bought outside the hotel is to be consumed on site. Our friend went to the supermarket to buy suncream and he got his bag searched as the suncream bottle looked like a bottle of water. This again wasn't the end of the world but bare in mind to ensure you accumulate more money for water and drinks during the day as a can of coke is €4. 3. On arrival we weren't told about the local bus that is very easy to use once you know about it. The hotel does offer local shuttle to the beach as well which is a nice extra if you're able to book on or if it works. 4. Evening menu at the hotel is also very particular (not good if you don't like fish) but some of my friends food was nice. We choose not to eat here again because the staff weren't overly attentive and a member of a party didn't like fish. 5. Reception staff weren't always helpful and sometimes made you feel like an inconvenience. The vending machine doesn't have any water in it, therefore one evening we asked the man on reception if they had some for us to purchase and he was very reluctant to do so. Overall it was a lovely holiday but the lack of information did tarnish it for us and we probably won't return.
