Our stay at Monaci delle Terre Nere stood out because of the people and the care they brought to the experience. Ahead of our arrival, there was thoughtful and ongoing communication as we worked through logistics, weather considerations, and how best to experience the estate and the surrounding area without a car. Nuwan, the Guest Experience Manager, handled a high volume of questions with patience and professionalism. What stood out most was his ability to truly listen and customize our experience based on our unique wants and needs, ensuring everything felt considered and personal. Our room was extraordinary — designed around an original 1700s wine press, full of character, history, and atmosphere. The views were stunning, and the space felt deeply connected to the land and the story of the estate. It was also a pleasure to meet the General Manager and the owner, which added another meaningful layer to our stay and reinforced the pride and care behind the property. The food experience was exceptional thanks to Chef Malcolm, who took extraordinary care around my gluten-free needs throughout our stay. He went well beyond to explain all the options - spending generous time with us during our 31st-anniversary dinner, making the evening feel thoughtful, relaxed, and genuinely special. And unforgettably delicious! The wine cellar on the property is remarkable and well worth exploring. A very special mention goes to Giulio, the very knowledgeable and passionate sommelier, who made this aspect of our stay unforgettable. He gave us a private tour of the wine cellar, spent unhurried time with us in the vineyard, and thoughtfully coordinated everything around our schedule. He also joined us for our anniversary dinner, carefully selecting and pacing the wines throughout the evening, which added a deeply personal and memorable touch to the celebration. Evenings at the bar became a highlight thanks to Salvo, whose warmth and genuine interest in conversation made each visit feel relaxed and personal. Monaci delle Terre Nere is a place with strong identity, history, and beauty — but it is the people who truly define the experience. We left feeling genuinely cared for, and we will remember this stay for a long time. Chris & Ruben

We received incredible service from the moment we arrived and throughout the stay (very personable). This Country Boutique Hotel with private villas and pools were well appointed in luxury. The fresh organic regional and local (on property) food prepared by suburb Chef, along with staff made each and every meal a delicious work of art. Looking forward to returning with friends and family, yes that good! I consider owner & staff friends for life.

An absolute stunning, and, unique setting. You feel like you are living amidst the Vineyards and the rooms are scattered around the property. The main house with its pool and terraces is beautifully appointed. The staff could not have been nicer- specially, the dining service staff, including the chef. He remembered my favorite fruit, and made a dessert with it specifically for my last night! The only reason I’m giving it four stars, and not five is because, while the dining and pricing was five star (30 euro cocktails!) the room accommodations were not. The amenities in the room (Furniture, linens, towels) were not high end and it felt a bit more like a nice Airbnb than a high end room ( we stayed in a signature suite) There are a lot of rugged steps, and walking to be done, so be aware if your mobility is impaired. Typically, you’re picked up in a golf cart at your room and driven over very bumpy roads:) Hearing Mount Etna while reading overlooking the vineyards and ocean view in the distance is an experience I will always remember! Good idea to get an international license and rent a car. Taxi transfers for anything are quite expensive (140 euro Each way to Taormina, for example)
