I arrived in Catania for a short visit, so i booked this place on a short notice. I will first mention that Alessandro texted me prior to my landing and suggested his assistance in any way, including picking me for the airport for a fair price, which was very helpful. The place itself is very simple, but very convenient and cozy. It is not far away from city center, so I could easily walk for 10-15 min to the city. The room is quite big and comfortable, and WIFI was excellent.

The staff is quite friendly but be aware that not all of them speak decent English. The rooms are spacious, much bigger than other similar accomodations and the beds are comfortable. The staff is quite friendly but be aware that not all of them speak decent English. The rooms are spacious, much bigger than other similar accomodations and the beds are comfortable. There is every day cleaning which is a big plus. However, some of the rooms need improvements. The floor cover in our room had some holes on it and the shower door was not closing properly. Also for me it wasn't a big issue but in the common areas there was a dog smell always (probably of the owner's). Another point to have in mind, but this is not their fault, the property is right across a kindergarten so early in the morning there can be some noise.

“Disappointing”

The pictures on the website do not reflex reality. The hotel is tired. The breakfast room is totally different & the single room was not as nice as portrayed. The pictures on the website do not reflex reality. The hotel is tired. The breakfast room is totally different & the single room was not as nice as portrayed. There was no selection for breakfast, only cornflakes were offered. No Danish pastries as shown just a piece of cake. They didn’t have any teabags on Sunday which is all I drink. There was no headboard on my single bed yet the picture shows one at the top & the bottom. My shower was broken so it didn’t sit in the holder so I had to hold it my hand which was so frustrating & inconvenient.

“a long way from the train / bus station”

but fortunately, much closer to the alibus stop ! we stayed here before and after Taormina; the rooms are large and comfortable. The beds were somewhat comfortable - we stayed in Room 1 and then Room 3 - we thought the bed in room 3 was more comfortable, but that could just be our personall preference. The bathrooms could do with some repair work - the adjustable shower heads don't stay in a fixed location and the showers are almost 2.5' x 2.5' Alessandra was amazing - working all afternoon / evening cleaning and then getting up early to make breakfast. We needed to catch the 8:15 Mt Etna bus (about 30 minute walk to the station) and she started the full breakfast a half hour early for us ! Breakfast was huge pastries, coffee, caprese, juice/milk, fruits; on Sunday we had mini cannolo as well :-) From here, the historical district is about halfway between the B&B and the stations. Parking can be accommodated off street.
