Convenient location not far from the Piazza del Duomo. Clean property renovated with a good esthetic taste. Vast rooms with high ceilings (better than a tiny hotel room ;-). Terrace and inner court.

We had finished a 12 day tour of Sicily with a larger group and four of us decided to spend a few days in Catania before flying home. We had booked 3 separate apartments between us. We booked one standard apartment, one superior apartment and one Junior suite (in which there were 2 of us). All rooms, even the standard, are of a good size and fairly well equipped. Our Junior Suite had a well equipped kitchen, including a washing machine and dishwasher, hob and a big fridge freezer. If you do intend to cook a simple meal, then ideally the kitchen would have had a microwave, but we still managed without any problems. Whilst the kitchen and dining/sitting room are modern, our bedroom was furnished in an antique style. Again, just personal taste, but we would have preferred modern décor in keeping with the rest of the apartment. The king sized bed was a strange affair. It had an antique headboard and footboard, but the actual bed-frame and mattress were not attached to said headboard and footboard. I mention this as the feet of the bed-frame were strangely positioned so if you are sharing the bed and one person shifts position, the whole mattress moves and trembles as if on a boat – bizarre ……. Our suite also had its own little terrace – which we liked, but was let down by having an AC extractor from another apartment emitting hot air, rather spoiling the outside space. Overall, the complex is nicely done and the roof terrace (open to all guests) on the second floor most pleasant. We must give a special mention to Joanna on reception – incredibly helpful – thank you. DdM is located up a bit of a hill so bear this in mind, but it is in easy reach of the main sights in Catania and in all honesty, if we went back to Catania, we would happily stay there again.

This hotel consists of an old palazzo which has been converted into a number of separate apartments, each with their own kitchen facilities and so forth. Our apartment was huge, but they are not all. The decor lacks personality: it is quite soulless but it is clean and tidy The bedroom provided beds for 4. The breakfast provided for us was pretty basic - but it is not clear that this is part of the standard offering. The location is quite noisy (although may not affect all rooms) but it is in a convenient city location.
