The stuff is very friendly and handsome. We had problems because of an accident, they helped to solve it. Our room was comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect. You can get here from the airport easy. You can reach every sights on foot. All of them are really close. They serve italian breakfast: eggs, ham, cheese, croissont, fruit, juice, tea, coffee.

“A Very Warm Welcome”

“Amazing Hotel Service”

On the bus going from the Catania airport, I left a bag with my meds and insulin for my diabetes. On the bus going from the Catania airport, I left a bag with my meds and insulin for my diabetes. Marco the owner of the hotel was kind enough to go to the bus station on his scooter to see if he could find it. 20 minutes later he came back with the bag. He literally saved my life. The room was spacious and comfortable and the location was fantastic, right in the center of the city, walking distance to almost all the attractions. As if Marco wasn't kind enough already, one morning we were having breakfast at the same cafe was and he paid for our breakfast. Overall Catania and the hotel was a great experience.

Marco and Chiara are exceptional hosts. The sweetest host couple of all Sicilia as far as I'm concerned. My stay at their hotel has been the BEST experience I've had in the travel accomodations I've had thus far as they only treated me with so much kindness and warmth from day 1. Prior to my arrival, I bungled up my bookings and inadvertedly gave a wrong arrival date (day prior to my actual arrival). Hence, their hotel was already full when I wanted to ammend the dates. Marco was very gracious enough to find me another hotel 20m from theirs for my extended dates! This made moving hotels a breeze for me apart from it being a very good recommendation as well, which merits another review! Hotel Trieste is in a very good location, easily accessible by foot to the different attractions of Catania. So much so that I could easily head back to rest and refresh myself and get on with my activities later on in the day/night. I looved my room that was actually very spacious for all my things with a couch and even a little balcony overlooking the streets. It had a mini-ref plus a full-sized mirror any girl will always appreciate! The hair/body/hand wash scents used in the bathroom smelled divine. Acoustics were very good because as the windows were closed, I couldn't hear the goings on outside and was left to completely relax and relish living in the essence of this historical building. The other thing I liked about the hotel is the little "terrace" upon entering the property. There was very nice music playing all the time. The breakfast area was very cozy and served both savory and sweet goodies and I always had my fill of capuchino to start the day. There is also a "self-service" laundromat just a few steps away (the owner, another warm and kind Catanian actually did the laundry for me and all I had to do was pick it up). Marco and Chiara were always very patient and readily available whenever I had queries of any kind!! So much kindness and detail has been put to make one's stay at the hotel, convenient, comfortable and very pleasurable. The staff as well were accomodating and efficient. As I extended my stay for yet another 2 days, I was also able to experience their other more recent Hotel Malía, a wee bit further from the city center yet closer to the train/bus station. Since Catania is easily walkable on foot, the location hardly mattered. Another excellent experience! The hotel is also in an old building yet the hotel is newly renovated. I had a bigger room, bigger balcony and the toilet and shower were in separate rooms (inside the room) with a full sized mirror needless to say! The highlight of the room though was the hydromassage in the shower..I could stay there forever after a long, tiring day! All the recommended restos were needless to say excellent as well. They also helped me find accomodation in Palermo as I had a hard time getting one as everything was fully booked in Sept.! Even to my last "breathe" in Catania, they also helped me book my taxi to the Station as I didn't want to struggle with my things. The Hotel Malía was actually near the bus station and it really would have been a breeze to just walk it if you're an expert, travelling "light" unlike me. I repeat, the best accomodation experience thus far of my travels because the warmth of Marco and Chiara made it extra special and memorable.
