“Nice room a bit expensive for the location.”
According to other reviews, we evidently had one of the best rooms as we had no problems. Our room was quiet and very spacious. The Air conditioning worked well and the bathroom was very nice. “Nothing special”
The lady who was sitting at reception could not speak English, hence it was pretty difficult to agree about our request. The single rooms are very small. You feel uncomfortable in there. “Somewhat sparse”
Not an hotel as such the Empedocle was one of these no frills, minimum staff look after yourself sort of places. Room was stark, though with interesting ceiling paintings. Breakfast was low budget and very DIY. Added nothing to our trip, other than a place to stay in Messina.
