This is of the old hotel tradition with a vast lobby and sitting rooms, big dining rooms, and excellent service. They have modernized a little with new bathroom design, and an outside upper level terrace dining experience. Given you are in the middle of the city bustle, it is quiet and a safe refuge. Walking promenades with shopping and hundreds of dining options are two or three safe blocks away. The staff was so charming and friendly. The front desk remembered us all three days, and visited about our day and interests. Everyone was excellent. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is not the fault of the hotel. The city has grown and blocked the view. So you sit on the upper terrace and cannot see the harbor/water. The location is city central, without a view. But we were touring all three days, so view from the hotel was not important. But for some, it might be.

The hotel is meticulously clean, well appointed, large rooms and stunning salons in the stile liberty. The hotel is meticulously clean, well appointed, large rooms and stunning salons in the stile liberty. Location- excellently located near the teatro massimo and everything is 15 minute walk from the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Drinks of the terrace are delicious but sadly the view is only visible when standing. The breakfast was excellent. I can't fault it, but to me, it was missing a spark of something which made it slightly clinical. However, this is a matter of personal preference and overall the hotel is excellent and would recommend to anyone.

Visited the bar at Grand Hotel et Des Palmes during our stay in Palermo and the setting itself is absolutely stunning. The historic interiors, grand mirrors, elegant chandeliers and beautiful architecture create a very impressive atmosphere from the moment you walk in. We stopped for cocktails and to experience the atmosphere, and visually the place feels full of old-world elegance and history. The cocktail presentation was beautiful and the bar area itself is definitely worth seeing. At the same time, the hospitality experience did not completely match the luxury image of the surroundings. Service was polite, but felt a little distant and lacked some of the warmth and attention you often expect from a truly exceptional luxury hotel bar. Still, it is a beautiful place to visit for a drink in Palermo, especially if you appreciate historic interiors and classic grand hotel atmosphere.
