“Fantastic in every way except.....”

You couldn't ask for a better location for a hotel. This one is smack dab in the middle of everything you want to see puts pretty much everything within easy walking distance. You couldn't ask for a better location for a hotel. This one is smack dab in the middle of everything you want to see puts pretty much everything within easy walking distance. The staff are tremendously helpful and the rooms are clean and fresh. And there are really good restaurants very nearby. My only negative is that we were off of the alley so anytime the windows were open, which was the way to cool the room down. You wound up with a ton of noise coming in, particularly on weekends, other people on our tour commented that being on the street side was just as bad so be prepared and bring ear plugs

This hotel certainly wins for the location, which I’d argue can’t be beaten if you’re a first time tourist to the city, with key sights and restaurants in the immediate area. This hotel certainly wins for the location, which I’d argue can’t be beaten if you’re a first time tourist to the city, with key sights and restaurants in the immediate area. The staff are really friendly at all times of the day and checking in was a delight. Access to rooms is via physical keys on a heavy fob, rather than modern keycards. My room was a twin offering on the first floor. I found the building itself a bit of a maze to navigate but that certainly makes for a more unique hotel. The room itself was spacious and although a bit dated and basic was clean. It appeared to be an accessible room, with two bathrooms - one huge with large walk in shower, the other smaller but still adequate. The beds were both singles on opposite sides of the room but they were comfortable enough. There was a stocked mini-bar in the room as well as bottled water and a kettle. The air-conditioning was effective and while there was a small TV it wasn’t really visible from either of the beds and no alternative comfortable seating. There was no noise from other rooms and despite the central location the room remained silent at night. I didn’t get to sample any of the dining or bar options during my stay, but for the location alone and the value it offers I’d certainly stay again - recommended!

This hotel used to be a grand home hundreds of years ago. It certainly is grand when you enter. Lots of lovely little nooks and crannies everywhere. Rooms to sit in etc. the staff were very helpful and our room was clean . Old but clean. The bathroom however really needed an update. The shower was however super hot and great water pressure. The walls were abit thin and we did hear a baby crying at one point for abit but then all was good. The location is amazing!!! We did not get the breakfast option with our room and we were told we could get breakfast for Euro21 each which is really expensive. We found our lovely cafe a short walk away and had amazing croissant and coffee for Euro 10 for two !! We did have a lovely dinner there the last night in the restaurant. It was very good and actually not crazy expensive. They are currently renovating rooms so hopefully they will get round to doing them all . It is a large hotel .
