“Bargain of a hotel in a fab location!”

Currently in room 306. Contrary to what others have written about this hotel, ie, some real negative reviews, we have found the hotel to be an excellent little bargain! Our room is a decent size, with a large double bed. We have a small tv, a fridge and a small sized balcony on the side of our room which has a lovely view of the hills and the sea! Our bathroom is a really good size! Some have commented on the small shower cubicle! It's more than adequate! Rooms are cleaned regularly and you can exchange towels at any time! Again, some have commented on the noisy trains! It's not constant and the noise last a few seconds! Nothing to bother about! Staff are friendly and helpful, especially in the breakfast room! For those expecting a 'full English'..(makes me laugh), it's not for you! Lol! You're not in England! Lol! The breakfast is lush! Lots of fruit, cheese and bread! Cereals! Juices! Croissants! Boiled eggs! Scrambled eggs and lots more! My faves are the mini croissants with ham and cheese! If you want to travel..the bus stop is on the road, just outside and the cable car, to take you to the top, where all the shops are, is 20m away! Beach is a few steps down the underpass! There's some real good restaurants just outside the hotel and a very reasonably priced shop, just next door, which has everything you need for a takeaway lunch! Sandwiches, arancini etc! Would definitely stay here again!👍🏽

The hotel is in an excellent spot, very close to Isola Bella however very steep down to the beach with a lot of steps so wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility issues. The hotel is in an excellent spot, very close to Isola Bella however very steep down to the beach with a lot of steps so wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility issues. Excellent for the cable car to Taormina and come every 15 minutes €10 for a return ticket. There are restaurants around the hotel which are great and even a little karaoke bar a couple of minutes walk up the road. Buses stop just outside and a couple of shops underneath that are reasonable and sell everything you need. Reception staff, we didn’t even bother trying to speak to them after we had checked in apart from the ask about the odd little help yourself bar. Miserable and not welcoming or friendly. The room, basic, run down, fridge had 2 bottles of water in when we arrived but nothing after. No facilities to make a cup of tea or coffee and very small especially the shower. When you sat on the toilet it made a large bang and felt like it was coming off the wall. However the bed was made up for us everyday and fresh towels daily. Walls are thin and not much privacy. Terrace was nice and we often sat out with a glass of wine looking over the bay. Breakfast was nice, not busy, only hot food was scrambled egg and fatty bacon thin slices. Lots of continental choice and as fine for us. We did not see any sunbeds at the beach opposite for our hotel so that is strange but didn’t bother asking. We did visit Isola Bella for the day €50 for 2 sun beds was extortionate but we did it for the experience. If you are wanting something cheap and cheerful in an excellent location this is great but I would absolutely recommend a balcony or terrace on your booking.
