Whilst the location initially feels rather distant from Taormina, the views are breathtaking and the hotel provides a genuinely reliable transport service to and from the town, and other areas, for a small fee throughout the day and into the evening. The room we selected had a partial sea-view, and Etna in the background, with a huge terrace with easy access to the pool and restaurant without going through the hotel, with the room well appointed. Villa Angela was very clean and all of the staff were very helpful and attentive. A fairly varied breakfast each morning and we did make use of the resaurant facilities several lunctimes and a few evenings which proved to be good value for money. A really comfortable place to stay. Everything felt unhurried and a drink or two in the eveing on the main terrace overlooking the coastline and Taormina was the icing on the cake. All in all a great stay and we would not hesitate to stay again should we choose to stay in Taormina on another occasion.

Staying at this hotel was absolutely superb and could not be faulted in anyway. The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was first class and of extremely good quality. All the staff were very helpful in making our stay as pleasant as possible. I would particularly like to thank Ada for all her help and support. She is a really friendly, lovely lady and nothing was too much trouble. I would also like to thank the gentleman on reception who helped relocate us to another hotel. This was because our flights were cancelled due to Mount Etna erupting 😩 Our room was very tastefully decorated and it was spotlessly clean. Having clean sheets every day was a nice touch too. The views were exceptional and it was just a shame that we could not stay for longer If you are fairly fit, there are a few hundred steps into the centre. It takes about 25/30 to walk down. The hotel does provide a shuttle bus at a very reasonable cost which is well worth every penny. I would say our stay was not long enough and we would definitely like to return to stay for longer one day. I recommend this hotel without any reservation.

Villa Angela is an exceptionally welcoming and impeccably run hotel. Every member of staff is a credit to the hotel, consistently providing warm, friendly and attentive service that made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The restaurant is excellent, whether you’re looking for a light snack during the day or a memorable evening meal. The views of Mount Etna are simply spectacular, and one of the highlights of our trip was sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine, watching Etna erupt. It was a truly magical experience and a memory we will treasure forever. Villa Angela and its wonderful team have created a relaxed, elegant atmosphere where it is so easy to unwind and enjoy every moment. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would recommend it without hesitation.

This is a lovely hotel as long as you realise you will be high above the old town - you need the hotel shuttle to get to/from the village. The view is amazing. Our room in the new section was bright and modern - however, the terrace is not undercover (unlike rooms in the older section) and is in the full sun all day so hard to use in hot weather. We had a couple of issues which took our rating down a blog or two. - We booked over the phone directly with the hotel and only when we were there did we realise that we had not been offered the 20% discount for a direct booking. Front desk staff refused to accept/change this even though we only paid on checkout. We left a note for the manger which was never responded to. - We also asked on booking if the room had a Nespresso machine and were led to believe there would be one; however, there was not and the hotel refused to provide one even though some room types do have one. - There were a few maintenance issues which were not handled well or at all: the phone in the room did not work, the room safe was 'flakey', on returning one afternoon none of the power points in the room did not worked (this was eventually rectified) - The restaurant is basically empty at dinner - I guess most guest go into town for dinner - not sure why - maybe an upgrade to the menu would help.
