My wife and I stayed at Therasia Resort for five nights on our honeymoon, searching for our own version of a “White Lotus” escape—remote, luxurious, peaceful, and memorable. I can confidently say the experience matched the expectation. The setting is extraordinary. The views over the surrounding islands and sea are stunning from nearly every corner of the property. Whether sitting by the pool, having breakfast, or simply walking back to the room, the scenery constantly reminded us we were somewhere special. The pools deserve recognition on their own—beautifully designed, relaxing, and perfectly integrated into the landscape. We spent hours simply enjoying the atmosphere. Our room was spotless, well stocked, comfortable, and exactly what we hoped for after long travel days. Housekeeping and overall upkeep throughout the resort were excellent. One of the highlights each morning was breakfast. The buffet was genuinely delightful, with homemade pastries and breads that felt more artisan bakery than hotel breakfast. It set the tone for the day and became something we looked forward to. The staff elevated the experience tremendously. Everyone was kind, attentive, and incredibly helpful. They arranged transportation, booked activities, provided clear timelines, answered every question we had, and gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and experiences around town. For English-speaking travelers, communication was effortless—the staff’s English was excellent, making planning stress-free. The spa experience was another standout. We booked the seven-treatment package and absolutely loved it. The spa facilities and massage team were exceptional and created one of the most relaxing experiences of our honeymoon. For anyone concerned about logistics: getting there was easier than expected, and I highly recommend booking the shuttle service directly through the resort. It removes a major travel variable and makes arrival seamless. Food and drink pricing at the resort felt comparable to other luxury European or U.S. resorts—not inexpensive, but fair relative to the level of service and experience. The only note for future visitors: we traveled early in the tourist season and often found ourselves alone at restaurants in town. This wasn’t necessarily negative—we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere—but travelers looking for a more energetic island vibe may want to visit slightly later in the season. Overall, Therasia delivered exactly what we hoped our honeymoon would be: peaceful, luxurious, beautiful, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for a remote island resort experience where expectations meet reality, this place is worth serious consideration.

The views from here are undeniably stunning with amazing sunsets. This view is very hard to beat and we have travelled the world. The reception staff were very attentive and smiley!, although they forgot to send us an email detailing the trips and menus so had to ask again. It was nice to have “freebies” in the room but not always topped up.The turndown service seemed irrelevant as they just put slippers out and moved a few towels around. No chocolate on the pillow! The restaurants were very expensive including the bistro where it would have been good to have had more variation on main menu.. We have eaten in many a Michelin starred restaurants but do not like 10 course taster menus and both of the restaurants offered this and no à la carte so bistro and pizza were are only other choices. Expensive and we were a captive audience!Breakfast was all about the pastries and cakes.. The fresh fruit was pre prepared and husband and I had to swap to get the fruits we really like. Could ask but didn’t want to with language barrier.Rather choose my own like I have done in every other hotel we’ve stayed in across the world. This was the same with the meat and the eggs. Tea bags for tea were forgotten one day. Service was inconsistent. If you choose from the menu, the eggs arrived before you have collected the first course. Therefore husband’s poached eggs were cold and inedible. There was also inconsistent service in the bistro. one day I was offered a handbag stool and then the next day I forgot this facility and about to put handbag on floor and was chided for forgetting. On the third day I waited and waited. The stool was given to the customer next table who didn’t even have.a handbag.. I pointedly had to leave my bag on the table until they realised. I think I was punished for forgetting the day before. Sometimes we had bread and sometimes not whether we had a starter or not! Beautiful pools and hotel is all about the amazing view so sometimes it’s style over substance and they need to get the nitty gritty right.
