“Relaxation in Tuscan country-side”

A real unexpected experience. Booked last minute for a 4 day escape & after day one we felt like we had rested for a week. One for return with the extended family for sure. Thank you for an incredible memory

“5 star resort, 3 star service”

So many things about L'Andana were great and we genuinely had a nice time but the service let it down. The rooms were beautiful and the children loved the pool, golf driving range and tennis. The adults pool and spa facilities were also good and we had a great golf lesson. A real highlight was the La Trattoria restaurant where the food and service were exceptional by any standard. Sadly the service across much of the rest of the resort was mixed - the odd highlight (the gentleman we assume was the maitre'd at main restaurant was always friendly,) but often it was poor and not what we have experienced at other 5 star resorts charging these sorts of rates. Examples included - reception 'making' a booking for us at the restaurant only for the restaurant to not have us booked in (although it was rectified by the maitre d), on another night - one person's meal being completely forgotten at the restaurant, as others have noted a very mixed experience being able to order drinks poolside - sometimes great and very responsive but other times orders via WhatsApp sitting not picked up for half an hour etc. We also found that certain activities we were looking forward to like wine tasting were not available unless booked in advance or right at the start of the week. We were also incorrectly charged for an activity (beach) which we ended up booking with the beachclub directly instead of via the hotel as we found the service to be slow. Again this was rectified when pointed out but just not what you'd expect. Any one of these alone is not the biggest deal but it seemed that there was a lack of experienced staff and coordination across different teams and put together it was enough to take the gloss of what was otherwise a very nice holiday. I've given it a generous 4 because it's such a lovely locale. I hope that the hotel staff can lift their game because it's such a lovely place.

We experienced great difficulties throughout our stay with the lack of staff around the hotel to assist guests. We could not get anyone to respond to WhatsApp messages for drinks around the adult pool and had to ask the pool man (young boy) to call this through for us. We saw lots of people getting orders delivered and would sometimes stop the waiter to order if they saw us. I went to the bar myself to get drinks but nobody was there. I asked at reception and was told someone would be there soon. I am not sure why the receptionist could not serve me a drink. The bar tenders (2 men) came to the bar, poured a glass of wine and left again. I was left at the bar completely ignored and very upset. We ordered room service and had 4 meals delivered and charged when there are only 3 of us. It was difficult to be understood. I felt reception staff could have been more helpful (apart from the 1st lady). I saw other guests receiving much better service, they were Italian and American. We are English. The level of service and attention received was very disappointing and did impact our enjoyment a great deal. Online the hotel states there is a poolside bar. This is false and should state the dates it is open as it was not the case on the dates we stayed.

We're a family of four who stayed at the hotel during May half term 2026. Overall , we were disappointed with the hotel and wouldn't return. It didn't meet the standards of a 5* resort in several areas. We had high expectations (particularly given that it's a member of Leading Hotels of the World) and as a result, quite a few things surprised us. The pros: - we had a great room (we had rooms 54 and 55) so we were delighted with the space and the additional interconnecting kitchenette area). - the setting for dinner and breakfast (when we sat outside) was pretty and picturesque - the staff: the reception staff were all really, really great (shout out in particular to the two Andreas!) - the concierge team were brilliant. The cons: - breakfast was (literally) worthy of a 3* hotel. I've genuinely never had breakfast like it in a resort that is supposed to be 5*. The buffet options were far more limited than in any other 5* hotel I've been to and felt very budget/ basic. They charge for any hot breakfast options- which I was shocked by given we were paying over 1,000 EUR per night for our family of 4. I've honestly never seen that before in an expensive 5* hotel. It feels like the hotel is better suited to the large coach groups that were there every day- and I'm sure were paying far less for their room rate than we were. If the hotel is catering more towards large coach tours than luxury holiday makers- the room rate should reflect that (or you should have a different breakfast menu for those that are not in the large groups). - the communal areas (e.g. the outside seating on the grass area at the back of reception weren't kept clean and swept. There was always tree debris etc on the seating). - I think more effort could be made to make the reception area/ the steps more appealing. When we arrived- it was quite underwhelming. We also didn't get a welcome drink etc. There was a welcome gift in our room- but it was a not particularly nice bottle of red wine. Again, it was underwhelming. (There were small, pretty pencil cases for the kids though, that they were pleased with). - for my daughter's birthday- i asked for a cake to be arranged. It was so disappointing! Plain, small chocolate cake, no decoration at all and one sad candle in it. I was expecting a beautiful Italian cake with Happy Birthday or something similar written on it. We were charged 50 EUR for the cake (note however that when I flagged this at check out and showed them a photo of the cake, the brilliant reception team immediately removed the 50 EUR from our bill). - the kids pool was awful- not very pretty, away from the main areas and not well maintained (the shower didn't work for example). We felt so frustrated that we couldn't use the far more picturesque pool by the main building (especially as our children are a bit older). In most 5* resorts we stay in, families are not left with such a poor option. It meant we didn't use the pool at all, despite the 30degree heat. Overall, we didn't feel it was a 5* experience. This was unexpected and frustrating, especially since we were paying 5* prices and had booked a hotel supposedly meeting the standards of the 'Leading Hotels of the World' group. We wouldn't go back and it really impacted our holiday.
