Great location right on the seafront and close to Piazza Milano. The room includes two sunbeds and a parasol on the beach with your room number on so it is reserved every day. Your breakfast table is also reserved every day and although there is a large selection of buffet choices it is the same every day. The rooms are not big but adequate we had two singles and a sofa bed. Room cleaned regularly and beds made daily. PLEASE NOTE when booking please read your choices carefully, if it just says Seaview and not balcony then you will just get a Window!! The hotel has 15 floors and three lifts so be prepared to wait. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance but all are very busy. If you want a guarantee of a sunbed with parasol without getting up early to bag one then this is for you. The beach is clean and the sand is soft, it's slopes out slowly so is quite safe for kids. It has beach lifeguards every 200m and showers and toilets every 200m This is mostly an Italian resort so don't expect loads of bars and clubs.

We - a family of three - booked for 11 nights the first half of July, which is a good period as the hotel is not fully booked yet. The location is excellent: the quieter part of Lido di Jesolo, next to Piazza Milano where there are some evening activities. You can run straight from the room to the beach, back to the swimming pool, to a bar etc. We asked a higher floor, somewhere in the middle, seaside with a balcony. If the elevators were occupied, we still could take the stairs. Actually we never had to wait more than 2 minutes for one of the three lifts. There are rooms without balcony, but for a small extra amount, you have a balcony. For any quiestion, the receptionists have a positive answer. The room was big and had everything that we expected: enough wardrobe space, many hooks, a small fridge, hardboard floor, heavy curtains that keep out every light at night, a thick door and well-isolated windows to have a good night rest, decent matrasses. In a hotel with 15 floors, there are often problems with water pressure, but not here: toilet flushes well, shower has hot water within seconds etc. Every other day sheets are changed, every day the floor is swiped, towels changed etc. - complete hotel service and well done by Genny. The staff is small and you quickly learn to know people. We had breakfast at a table at the window, seafront. The breakfast is classic, every day the same offer, but plenty to choose. For instance freshly baked croissants, the crunchy version, not the Bauli-type brioche. In the evening there was a buffet which also offered a variety of dishes. Salad bar is basic, but there is a buffet of starters that has all kinds of food: sea food salads, foccaccia, ... There were every day three types of pasta: fish, meat, veggie, and the same difference for the main dishes. The first evening something went badly wrong with the use of pepper in the risotto ai frutti di mare and salt in the vitello tonnato (which even looked like manzo), but the other evenings there was nothing to remark. The second time we ate this risotto and the vitello tonnato, it was really well-seasoned and very tasty. We heard that there was a new cook and that they were still trying out dishes. Anyway, the director of the hotel is also eating there every evening and knows what can be improved; The staff that is responsible for the restaurant consists of only 4-5 people, so they are constantly running around, but they still find the time to have a talk and offer you the extras that you want. For children there is a "babyclub" and the two young responsible people - Ramona and Andrea - did a good job in entertaining the kids, at the beach, the simming pool and in the evening. Why not 5 stars? Well, it was the first half of July and we saw that it became more hectic with big groups entering the hotel. That means: waiting longer at the elevator, queuing in the morning for the coffee, empty trays at the buffet at certain moments and staff that is working in overdrive. If the hotel is fully booked, I can imagine that clients might have a Costa Brava-experience. But at that moment the beaches are also overcrowded and it is may be better to avoid Lido di Jesolo in general.

The location was excellent, directly on the beach. The room was very nice but a few things were broken or tired, but nothing that ruined our stay. The staff were very helpful. The Receptionist changed our room after the first night, as my children were not keen being on the top floor. The restaurant staff were also very helpful and friendly, particularly the "pasta" chef. Would definitely go back. The hotel could do with a bit of an update but then the price reflects this. It is good value and overall it was a very pleasant stay!

“Step one, two, three and into the sea”

This review concerns Hotel Caravelle, not the sister Minicaravelle, two facilities that are really not comparable other than sharing common ownership and a swimming pool. Overall, the Caravelle is fairly priced for a three star hotel and should satisfy most vacationers who use a hotel room as a site for sleep and shower rather than as a second home. Location: Situated midway between the vast expanse of Jesolo's seaside shoreline, the hotel is at the doorstep of the beach. A short block away is the Milano Square where evening concerts are frequently held and the main road becomes available only for pedestrians in the evening. Dozens of cafes, restaurants, bars and shops entice tourists to spend their money. Additionally, public buses regularly traverse the road nearby taking you to the main bus station where you can travel to many worthwhile sites as part of day trips, such as Treviso, Venice, the islands of Torcello , Murano and Burano, Sea Life and Tropicarium and the Alpine town of Cortina. Close to the hotel the boat "Moby Dick" departs for Venice as an alternative to taking a bus to the port to board a ferry to Venice or the islands. Hotel Facilities: The rooms are adequately sized. The air conditioner worked well as did the mini fridge, daily cleaning was thorough with bed linens changed every other day and the multilingual reception staff were friendly and helpful. Suggestion: One inconvenience of the hotel is that although the 50 or so year old building has been renovated, the old lifts (elevators) are vintage with maximum capacity of four persons (an alarm sounds if the weight limit is exceeded). Since the lift stops at each floor where the call button has been pushed, you may wait a long time to find room to board. So, choose a room on the top floors since the lift will start at the highest floor and work down. You will at least find a space even though you will stop at every floor on the way down. Further suggestion: Choose a room with a balcony. if you select a seaview balcony, you have a panoramic view of the entire length of the beach with the army of battalion beach umbrellas spanning the beach in perfectly disciplined order. If you choose a side balcony, you will view half the span but one side is a mirror image of the other. By the way, the beach is immaculate with trucks picking up refuse every evening and tractors grooming the sand. Food: We chose half board. Although breakfast buffet was more than ample, the lack of variety from day to day became quite monotonous--the exact same food without a single alternative. Dinner, however, was different every evening, with creative choices of pasta, soups, meat and seafood dishes, as well as a large selection of salads and desserts. Suggestion: Since the restaurant operating hours are quite brief (eg. Dinner from 7-830 pm), hungry folk start queueing immediately, so wait a half hour or so and then the lines will have evaporated. Finally: One final benefit of choosing the Caravelle is that given the unique design of the building (something resembling a double ship's bow or a Darth Vader mode of transport, or a giant bird), you can easily spot it so you won't get lost. The hotel also has the advantage of having a multicultural clientele with mostly Italians but large numbers of Germans, Austrians, Belgians, Slovakians, Hungarians and a smattering of Russians as well as others. Guests are allocated a space on the beach with free use of beach chairs and umbrella. The hotel also runs a mini-camp for children. ink WD.
