We travelled to Lido as an extended family of 20, to celebrate the 60th Wedding Anniversary of my hubbies Parents. Unfortunately, his Dad passed away in 2015 and so he wasn't with us. But my MIL wanted to return to the place that she Honeymoon'd some 60 years ago. Very exotic for 1966! We stayed in the Hotel Eden. From the outset I was happy with our choice. Communication with the hotel was a pleasure and emails were answered promptly. Our Daughter Hannah travelled from OZ to surprise the family, I was the only one that knew she would be joining us. Hannah arrived earlier than us on the 5th of July and she had no problem checking in. We arrived much later from Ireland, due a delayed flight. Needless to say there were tears when the family seen Hannah. The night porter checked us in very quickly. We left our bags in the room and went out to find a late bar to have a drink and a catchup. We got to bed at 330am. We had two rooms and both were spotlessly clean and well equipped, with a kettle plus selection of teas and coffees, a small fridge, electronic safe and a hair dyer in the bathroom. The TV doesn't have any English channels but it does have Netflix that you can easily log into, to catch your favourite show. There was always plenty of hot water in the bathrooms. Our bed, room 138, was quite hard and we asked for a topper on day 1, it was on our bed a few hours later. The beds in room 101 were much softer. The one thing I would say is that the rooms need door/wall hooks and a clothes line in the bathroom. Our rooms didn't have balconies and so trying to get wet swimwear and towels dry was an issue for us. But that is a very minor thing and easily remedied. The room attendants were very efficient and our room was turned over every day. The ladies were quite friendly. Items replaced as necessary. I was very happy to see the hotel use numerous sustainable practices but disappointed with the disposable cups in the bathroom. Next morning we woke at 900am to start our holiday. The dining room is on the ground floor to the right of reception. It is a large bright room with plenty of seating and a large buffet. There were so many choices for breakfast. Hot items like eggs - boiled, scrambled and fried, bacon and sausages. Lots of bread and pastry options, plus a toaster. 2/3 choices of juice, 4/5 choices of cereal and all types of fruit, yogurt and of course two machines for tea and coffee. We were greeted by Angela on day one, she is a treasure, a beautiful young girl and she was very friendly and accommodating. After a couple of days she remembered us and our room number and quickly got us seated. She is a great ambassador for the hotel and also for great customer service. We were also greeted many mornings with Samjir and Natalie, both of whom were very friendly. After breakfast we decided to check out the pool area, while it is small and not too deep it is perfect to cool down and wash off the sand after a couple of hours on the beautiful beach. There are a few loungers, deck chairs and a couple of patio tables with chairs and plenty of parasols. You can get drinks from the bar delivered to the pool area by the young waiters, they come up and tempt you with cocktails - great salesmen. The one negative I could mention about the pool area, is that the WC is tiled with very slippery tiles, please be careful. One of our gang slipped and had a few little bruises. Reception staff were always friendly with a Buon Giorno etc as you are passing. We made contact in relation to one matter during our stay and this was replied to and acted on in a very prompt and professional manner. The bar in the hotel was manned by Atik, most evenings. A very nice, friendly young man with a flair for making delicious cocktails. We called him the Maestro Mixologist. He also had a great attitude and his customer service was exemplary. The night porter that checked us in on the 5th of July, we didn't get his name but he also obliged with late drinks on a couple of nights. The hotel bar closes at 1030pm and after that you can get drinks but they must be charged to your room. The hotel is literally one minute from Piazza Mazzini, which is a large square that has public events on most weekends. If you are looking for a good restaurant, we would highly recommend Sette Sapori, which is directly opposite the Hotel Eden. We had a wondeful stay at the Hotel Eden and would definitely recommend a stay here. Lido di Jesolo is a really beautiful resort.
