I've just spent a week at Hotel Tampico in the lovely Lido di Jesolo. Sometimes, as a lone traveller, you can feel a bit awkward or self-conscious, but not there. As per some of the reviews I read before choosing to book there, it's a delightful family-run hotel where everyone is made to feel welcome. Whilst I've seen the way some people criticise breakfast buffets that always have the same foods on offer, it really doesn't matter when there is such a variety to choose from. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. It is located parallel to the main street, about 100m away. It's an ideal location, close enough to feel part of all the activity going on, but far enough away not to be kept awake by noise. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that the air conditioning in my room was not very effective as it only seems to operate a fan, which doesn't cool the air efficiently. Nevertheless, I would certainly stay there again.

“Nice family run hotel”

We stayed in late August, a family of three (2 Adults and a 10 yr old). We booked through booking.com and got a decent deal. However booking.com is incorrect when they say breakfast is included.... it is not!!! This must be a translation issue, but be aware that the cost will be added at the end. So best to ask when you check-in!! The hotel is run by a lovely family, who own a cute little dog (who is happy to sit there and be stroked). The hotel was always clean and welcoming, their english isn't 100% but neither is our Italian, we still managed and found it enjoyable. The rooms are not modern (think late 80's early 90's), but they are clean and comfortable with aircon. The bathroom was a wet room with a shower curtain, when the shower curtain was pulled across it was definitely too small, so we pulled it only halfway. There is a fridge in the room but it locked and comes at a price, you can rent per day or for a week (sorry I can't remember price, but we think it was €10 per week) Remember you are paying a smaller price so it won't be fancy!! We also had a balcony, which was nice to sit at in the evening. The room came with a specified sunlounger and sun bed on the beach, with a parasol and small circular table around the parasol. This was near a few beach cafe/bars and close enough to the sea. Overall we only used this room when we came back from our day's adventures and to cool down from the beach. It suited our needs for a good price and I have no complaints.

Poor breakfast proposition, only 1 little bunn for a person. For proposition there was some cheese of one kind and one kind of ham which you had to wait to be brought from the kitchen, some cerials and one juice mashine and only one coffee mashine the line to which was up to 15 minutes, that`s it. … more

Poor breakfast proposition, only 1 little bunn for a person. For proposition there was some cheese of one kind and one kind of ham which you had to wait to be brought from the kitchen, some cerials and one juice mashine and only one coffee mashine the line to which was up to 15 minutes, that`s it. Very fat meals, usually pasta and pork, and no drinks during the supper. Room was clean, but tiny with very thin walls and had strange odor of humidity. Since we stayed at season beginning (april-may), it was still cold outside, for conditioning tourist must pay 5€ per day. If room is cold, nobody cares. One day after returning from an excursion we found our room unlocked and opened, when I asked an administrator why it was opened, the answer was "I don't know"... When we got wet after rain and tried to dry our shoes with a hairdryer (there was no other option how to dry it), we heared knocking to our door and angry administrator told us that hair dryer is for drying hair only and up to 10 minutes per day maximum (the hairdryer was unbilievebly loudy so the entire hotel could hear it through the thin walls), the administrator did not propose any other option for drying shoes. Very weak wifi (when it was) and weak signals for TV programs.
