A Stay to Remember at the Reef Hotel, Marsalforn From the moment we arrived at the Reef Hotel in Marsalforn, we knew our stay was going to be something special — and it exceeded every expectation. I cannot recommend this wonderful hotel highly enough, and I only wish I could give it more than five stars. The service was, quite simply, exceptional from start to finish. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. Whether it was a friendly greeting at reception, thoughtful recommendations for exploring Gozo, or the seamless and professional manner in which every small request was handled, the team made us feel truly looked after throughout our visit. Their professionalism, paired with such genuine warmth, is a rare and beautiful thing. Our room was an absolute delight. The décor was tasteful and elegant, beautifully presented with a real eye for detail, and immaculately clean throughout. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, the furnishings were of the highest quality, and every facility — from the spotless bathroom to the thoughtful little touches dotted around the room — added to the sense of comfort and luxury. We felt instantly at home, and each evening we returned to our room with a smile. I must also offer a special and heartfelt thank you to Maria Bigeni, the hotel's Business Development Manager. Maria went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect in every way. Her warmth, dedication, and genuine kindness made all the difference, and the personal assistance she provided was simply outstanding. It is people like Maria who transform a lovely holiday into an unforgettable one. I am so grateful for her care and attention. If you are considering a stay in Marsalforn, look no further than the Reef Hotel. Between the impeccable service, the beautiful and comfortable rooms, and the truly personal touch from Maria and her colleagues, it offers everything you could wish for and more. “Superb Stay!”

Absolute gem of a hotel! Stayed here for a week with friends and had a wonderful time. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, with good air con that was easy to use, stylish bathrooms with great water pressure for the shower. Absolute gem of a hotel! Stayed here for a week with friends and had a wonderful time. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, with good air con that was easy to use, stylish bathrooms with great water pressure for the shower. Pools were great with very comfortable sunbeds and fab cocktails served by Anthony and Umesh who were very attentive. Chilled atmosphere at the third floor pool under the shade of the trees and a beautiful view from the rooftop pool! Special mention to the receptionist Clizia who was always helpful and gave great local recommendations. Shout out to the cleaners also who gave us a warm hello each morning and left our rooms spotless! Location of the hotel is great, less than a two minute walk from marsalforn bay which has many lovely restaurants to choose from. We hope to be back again! Thank you <3

“Good, but let down in a couple of areas”

The Reef is a nice hotel that benefits from being set a few minutes walk out from the seafront at Marsalforn. In truth it's not the most picturesque part of Gozo and every other building seems to be a building site, but the town has a bustling atmosphere and plenty of restaurants and the sea is amazing here – but don't expect beaches per se… It's plunge in from the rocks. And everywhere else you might want to go on Gozo is only a short taxi or (frequent) bus ride away. The Reef offers lovely rooms, 2 great pools, and an excellent breakfast in particular. We went half board which was probably a mistake. The evening dining offers a very, very limited menu for half board, rather than their full al a carte menu – at no point were we aware of this when booking. With a 10-year-old, we could have done with that info. It definitely feels like it was deliberately withheld. Equally, the evening service was pretty shocking to be honest – a constant battle to get anything and then even to settle your drinks bill – where you had to tell the staff what you'd had! We were here during the World Cup and games were shown on a big screen and there were plenty of people who wanted to watch. Unfortunately the bar closed at 9:30pm which made very little sense. A pointer here is that a single set of staff work extremely long probably 18-hour shifts. Some are still really helpful and pleasant; some not so. The Reef seems to be run on the absolute minimum and that extends to general maintenance too. Most of the toilets on the 9th floor that serve the rooftop pool were out of service for the whole of our week – complete with the associated smell, and part of the rooftop pool area was cordoned off for a few days because of a collapsed floor. Also, noise between floors is quite high too, if you're unlucky enough to have someone above who insists on stomping around at 3am for ages. We went with Jet2holidays so that package is good value and everything went like clockwork. I've given the Reef 4 stars as a round up rather than down. It's realistically 3.75. With a bit of thought it could be a really great place to go, and we did have a good week. However, I do wonder whether anyone from Jet2 has ever been there to check it functions as it should.
