“Tres Vidas Hotel”

If you recall, I inquired of this group about a month ago if anyone had stayed at Tres Vidas. From the responses, a few were familiar with the golf course and location, but nobody had ever stayed at the hotel. Last week, we took one for the team and our only mistake was staying 4 nights at the Princess and 3 nights at Tres Vidas. We should have stayed the entire week. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Adrianna Jasso Rodriguez. Our bags were taken immediately to the room. Tres Vidas Hotel has only 10 rooms. From what I understand, 9 are considered "suites," while 1 is considered a "master suite." We chose a standard suite. I'm not going to say the room is overly large, or should be considered a suite, but I will say it is one of the most comfortable/functional hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The tub in the bathroom is built for two people. There is a separate walk-shower, as well as an enclosed toilet. Both of the doors are made of frosted glass. The room itself is very tastefully done with marble tile and shell ornaments in the room. All of the lighting is with recessed halogen lights, which makes the room even more inviting. Through the sliding glass doors (protected by Plantation style shutters) were two chaises with cushions and the beach is right there. The restaurant is open from 7 to 7 each day. Given the remote location, we were expecting the food prices to be outrageous and were pleasantly surprised by the prices and the quality of the food. Cesar took care excellent care of us and attended to everything very efficiently. It goes without saying that the golf course is wonderful and a course every golfer would enjoy. The caddies all knew how to read greens. If I missed a putt, it was because I didn't do what Armando told me to do. This is not a hotel for everyone. As the crow flies, it's probably a mile south of the airport, but about 12 miles of driving. From an entertainment standpoint, there is whole lot of nothing. If you like to able to walk out of your room and walk directly to the beach, with no elevators, no long paths, this is the place. If you want no screaming kids and quiet time, this is the place. If you want to sign for your meals and drinks once a day, this is the place. If you want the one of kind type of service that people can give to a facility that only has 10 rooms, this is the place. Good news is the service is great and everything is right there. Pool, beach, golf course and food services. It's a very relaxing and casual place to stay. Bad news is it's quiet, out of the way and away from the variety of restaurants and nightlife. It's all a matter of what you are looking for. For us, we found what we were looking for and look forward to returning next year for the full week.

Let me tell you this hotel is placed in a very secluded, exclusive and tranquil area. That's something very unique to Diamante area. As such I'd classify this property as a boutique hotel. Let me tell you this hotel is placed in a very secluded, exclusive and tranquil area. That's something very unique to Diamante area. As such I'd classify this property as a boutique hotel. After staying for 3 nights I'd say this is more like a high end B&B or inn than an actual hotel. Tres Vidas is a housing development in Acapulco featuring a world renowned golf course. Recently they converted part of it into a hotel and handed the administration to L'Hotel. It is not bad by any standard but is not good at all. You feel a private atmosphere but the lacking of hotel service is evident. One restaurant that operates to 9pm with the same menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Average pool service and with no beach service or infrastructure. I think it's a bit pricey for what you get and you have some many options available close by that I'd think on coming back anytime soon. Rooms are ok, but need some maintenance as the rest of the building does. It's a good effort but falls extremely short.
