I stayed two nights over the 2025 Thanksgiving Holiday. Yes, the room, two queen bed room was dated a bit, but I noted 2 things, (1) the furniture, cabinet, etc are made of real wood! It may be bocote. Real things in a fake world. (2) Maybe not as chic as someone would want these days, but everything was in excellent condition. Well maintained. Comfy firm bed and great sheets. Great bathroom and pretty tile work. No obvious cheap fixes anywhere. Note also, my room was part of a suite, with a matching room (no doubt) upstairs. The stairway going up was, beautifully built of wood, and stunning craftsmanship, like something out of 18th century building in Europe. A photo is attached. The Grounds are five star. 500 palm trees to shade the extensive property and overwhelm all the buildings. The staff, probably 200 at any one time, are superb. I'm usually a cheapie, and stay at lower end places, but did the two nights on the spur of the moment. Glad I did (and got a really cheap rate, pleasing me the 'cheapie'). I was solo, but it would be great for families. I will definitely return. Also, I liked the restaurant, Chapultepec, which I either ate at or had food walked to my room, three times. Great staff and very accomodating. The beach was good. I swam every day, and surf casted twice, without success. Final note, it is very safe. Security staff are there 24/7, unobtrusive, and very kind. Also, it was nice to see a few families from Mexico, who were all happy and enjoying their stay.

One day during our stay, the power went out across the entire property. We were without water in our apartment for a whole morning, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. One day during our stay, the power went out across the entire property. We were without water in our apartment for a whole morning, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. (This was the same day they closed the nearest pool from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.) One of the A/C remotes ran out of batteries, and they helped us replace them. The day before, the lock on our apartment door died, and we couldn't get in until we went to the lobby (far from the apartment) to have it repaired (their batteries had also died). We found at least five giant cockroaches living in the apartment: two in each bathroom and one in the living/dining room. Yuck! After reporting everything that happened, which I've written here, we spoke with Milkar (the reception supervisor) to request a late check-out. She told us there was no way she could grant us even an hour's grace, and because it's a condominium, she couldn't offer us any hospitality space. The place is gorgeous and the beach is beautiful. Its palm trees make it look like paradise. However, as I mentioned, given its age, maintenance should be preventative, and they shouldn't wait more than a few weeks (not 6 years) to fix things like the jacuzzi; or notify guests when they book that it's not in use. Also, the lack of umbrellas in the pool area and insufficient palapas or shade on the beach makes you not want to use that area except very early in the morning (before 9 am, and the pool is open from 9 am to 9 pm) or late after 5:30 pm.
