Pros- Great hotel property, Great views, Great food, Great service, Peaceful and relaxing. Cons- Entertainment is lacking, not on the beach & Not many restaurant options

This was our first visit to this resort after having stayed at several other Hyatt-owned properties. We enjoyed the stay, even though we were disappointed that some of the Ala carte restaurants were now closed due to it changing owners in August. We made the best of it and would like to thank Carlos, the concierge, who assisted us in getting the US Men's World Cup game on the Vantage Club monitor and arrange for safe transport when we left the resort one evening for dinner, and Artemio, who provided excellent bar service in the Club. The bartenders and servers at the rooftop Vantage Club pool were also excellent.

“Not for longer stay trips”

This hotel is definitely not equipped for longer stay trips. We were there for 2 weeks and were definitely ready to come home. They advertise 10 restaurants but this is not the case. This hotel is definitely not equipped for longer stay trips. We were there for 2 weeks and were definitely ready to come home. They advertise 10 restaurants but this is not the case. There are only 2 restaurants open in the evening or you can eat at the taco truck outside (very informal). The buffet is not open in the evening which was a real shame. There’s no atmosphere in the evenings, completely dead. They are trying to charge on top of your stay at all corners, to rent a cabana, room service, vantage club, restaurant eating at the beach club, it’s constant. The real highlight from our trip was Eduardo from the downstairs pool bar, he completely made our stay. We would only recommend if you were in Mexico for a couple of nights.

“Hyatt Vantage Club - Worth it?”

The resort itself is beautiful. The grounds are immaculate, the rooms are clean and well maintained, and I have absolutely no complaints about the property's appearance or upkeep. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by several disappointing issues, especially considering I booked a JetBlue Vacations Vantage Club package costing over $4,000. The package advertised exclusive benefits, including resort credits, room upgrades, welcome gifts or other VIP perks valued at $125 or more, along with a complimentary one-day cabana reservation. None of the advertised perks were provided. The cabana benefit was particularly frustrating. I intended to enjoy a beach cabana during my stay, but instead spent nearly two hours trying to redeem the offer. Initially, the hotel had no knowledge of the promotion. After multiple explanations, excuses, and a call to JetBlue Vacations, the hotel finally acknowledged the benefit—but only after imposing restrictions that had never been disclosed. I was informed the offer applied only to the least expensive pool cabana (approximately $40/700 pesos) and specifically excluded beach cabanas. This restriction made little sense. There were more than enough complimentary lounge chairs and umbrellas around the pools, and during my entire stay I did not see a single guest rent a pool cabana. After giving up on the back-and-forth, I paid $300 out of pocket for a beach cabana package, only to watch NINE other people (attaching the photo to review) who had not paid freely pile right into our area, grab napkins off our table and leave empty glasses. It felt misleading and left me feeling like I had paid for something that was supposed to be free. We also booked the Coco Bongo VIP excursion for $360 for two people. We were informed that transportation is typically provided by the hotel, but because they were unable to secure four additional guests, we were required to arrange and pay for our own transportation to the venue. That was unexpected. Hotels always transport you to an excursion booked through them. The beverage quality was another disappointment. Most of the drinks throughout the resort were noticeably watered down, with the only consistently better drinks being served in the Vantage Lounge. Finally, be cautious about making late dinner reservations. The staff appeared eager to close for the evening, and the service felt extremely rushed. During one dinner, our waiter brought our main courses and desserts to the table while we were still eating our appetizers. The experience was awkward and made us feel like we were being hurried out of the restaurant. We ultimately left with much of our meal untouched. The resort itself is attractive and well maintained, but the lack of transparency surrounding the advertised Vantage Club/VIP benefits, inconsistent service, and several unexpected disappointments significantly detracted from what should have been a premium vacation experience.
