Great service and entertainment at this resort!! beautiful spot. Clean and service is great. The staff are friendly! Lots of things to do and close to bus pickup and shops. Love the availability of shuttle and water taxi. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. My daughter especially loved the Kids Zone and daily activities. Ximena and Hannia were very kind and fun! The Spanish and Mexican food thematic nights were our favorites. The water taxi was great, we saw iguanas and crocodiles - from a safe distance!

We stayed at Sunset Marina Resort & Yacht Club for 7 days (April 28 – May 4) with our 6-year-old daughter. We chose this hotel for its quiet location and the shuttle benefits (boat and bus) on a priority basis allowing access to the group’s 03 other properties, which promised easy logistics without needing a rental car or taxis. The Highlights: The resort is beautiful and matches the photos online. The architecture, reminiscent of a Greek village, is charming. Our room was spacious, well-equipped, and featured a lovely lagoon view with a balcony whirlpool—perfect for sunset. The true stars of this hotel are the Restaurant and Bar teams; they truly "carry the resort on their backs." I want to personally recognize Paloma and Ignacio. Paloma showed great empathy by arranging a prime view for my daughter at the Teppanyaki show after the Concierge had dismissively denied our request. Ignacio was incredibly professional and proactive every day, even coordinating with the chef to speed up our final meal so we wouldn't miss our airport transfer. Their hospitality turned a standard stay into something special. Areas for Improvement: Front Desk Issues: Two days into our stay, we were wrongly charged $50/day for our daughter, despite having a confirmed reservation for 2 adults + 1 child (All-inclusive package - Flight + Accommodation). Although it was later dismissed as a "misunderstanding," the lack of professionalism and the stress it caused my wife was unnecessary (They could have resolved this issue directly with the agency without involving us). Tip for this type of occurrence: There is a standard practice in the hospitality industry where the hotel or resort provides an additional, unforeseen service or experience as an apology to mitigate the error in question. Shuttle Logistics & Communication: The Water boat and bus transfers were unreliable. We often waited over an hour for a boat that didn't follow the provided schedule. On Saturday and Sunday, the Boat service was "inoperable" due to maintenance, yet the Front Desk never informed us beforehand, despite seeing us pass by every morning (When we presented the paper we were given at check-in with the Water Boat and Bus Shuttle schedules, the reception's response was that the schedule had changed two days prior, and they returned it with the following question: "The concierge didn't inform you guys?). On the first day we discovered the Boat service wasn't going to work, it seemed like a bad joke. We asked about the captain's location (the boat was docked at the marina), and the answers were vague, like "just wait about 10 minutes," "we'll check, but he should be back soon," or they just stared at us pretending not to understand. After a lot of pressure, we were informed that a maintenance stop was necessary and that they couldn't say if it would be back to normal the next day. They also said that if we wanted, they could make a reservation for a private boat – essentially trying to push an additional sale, even though the hotel wasn't fulfilling its promise of providing the free boat service for the Royal Sunset hotel, and offering us the bus as an alternative. The most bizarre thing is that on Saturday and Sunday the bus schedule was also reduced, with departures dropping from every 30 minutes to every hour, and then every two hours at the end of the day. This lack of proactivity forced us to rely on unplanned Uber expenses.
