This resort is lovely. It has a gorgeous central wooden walkway that feels like a neighborhood. It is quiet and great for walking, as it is a smaller campus. The beach is maintained very nicely, and the pools were not busy, crowded and kept clean. Service was excellent and food was delicious. It has a nice gym, fun activities, great evening shows. There is a childrens pool with a small water park structure, an activities pool, and an adult infinity pool with swim up bar. I had great help from Pedro, pool concierge, and the entertainment team was fun and engaging. Karla, Eric, Manuel really stand out.

We loved the size of the resort, easy to get around not too big. For the smaller size there were still so many dining and entertainment options. What stands out is the friendliness and how genuine the staff were. The resort is so clean! There is always someone working at keeping all areas of the resort and grounds so clean. The entertainment is excellent at night, we did not take part in activities during the day but they looked fun and well organized. It is a beautiful resort, we felt very relaxed and not crowded at all at the beach. I cannot speak to the pools as we did not use them. One observation regarding the adult pool. We thought about going in one day but did not see a lot of areas to leave you things while[ you were in the pool as there are so many bali beds lining the one side. The other side is the infinity so you cannot leave anything on that side. We spent most of our days at the beach, which we enjoyed. We were in preferred and liked the private beach area. We didnt have issues securing chairs under covering. At the time we were there there was no worry to run down and secure a place early in the morning. David at the preferred beach area was excellent and kept on the towel removal when necessary. Santiago the bartender/server at the preferred beach was amazing! Attentive and made great drinks! We have to give shout outs to Manuel, Kevin and Edgar of the entertainment team. Some servers we loved, Antonio from the world cafe who served us on the special dinner night, Lucia and Asael as well as a few others I'm sorry I forgot to write their names down from the Seaside Grill! Arturo our server from Bordeaux and the hostess Nahomi were exceptional! David from El Patio was so knowledgeable and so personable! A shout out to Luz the server and Carlos the bartender from the preferred lounge, we enjoyed are interactions and they gave amazing service. We loved Linda from housekeeping who took such great care with keeping the room clean and helping us with any little issue that popped up. There were so many other exceptional people who work at the Resort and that is a big standout for us! Our stay was wonderful, only a few minor hiccups with the room and room service that were quickly resolved. We found the food mostly so good! The fried ice cream at Himitsu is sooo sooo good! Having the 24 hour cafe was awesome and they made great drinks. The coffee drinks at the restaurants were very good at well. Pot of room service coffee not so great but we love having a nespresso machine in the room! All in all we really enjoyed our stay. We were a couple alone celebrating a special birthday and enjoyed our time alone, our time interacting with lovely people and staff. The children on the resort never bothered us. We were on the outside of the building with an oceanview and did not find it noisy at all. Perhaps the rooms facing the pools might get more noisy but the weddings and entertainment were not noisy at night very late. The lobby which is away from the rooms, and beautiful by the way was where most of the late night entertainment was. The seaweed was heavy at times but they do their best to keep it cleaned up. This is not a resort problem but of all the coast and unpredictable. We still swam and it did not bother us. All in all I would highly recommend this resort. Thank you Dreams Riviera Cancun!

“Just a Wedding Venue”

This is NOT a relaxing holiday destination it is a Wedding Venue. The problem with that is ,each wedding comes with a large party of friends and family. This is NOT a relaxing holiday destination it is a Wedding Venue. The problem with that is ,each wedding comes with a large party of friends and family. Therefore they take over the beach ,pool,restaurants and disrupt other guests. We were requested to move from our sun beds on the beach and around the pool twice so the hotel could set up and accommodate a wedding function. A wedding every day of our holiday some days two. One night the Mexican restaurant was closed as it was booked out to a wedding party. There are NO pool towel cards you can have as many pool towels as you like and gusts just use them and walk away leaving them on sun beds. (So you are unsure if a sun bed is reserved , taken or free.(We saw a number of arguments between guests over towels that were removed by guests. Protocol is ,rolled up towel Bed Free. Laid out towel with personal items Bed Taken. Towel left by guest with no personal items take the risk if they return ?) Mexico attracts a large number of guests from the USA and if you think they are loud then the Canadians out shout them so take ear plugs. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Grounds ,rooms and site kept very clean and tidy. Food in restaurants good main evening buffet poor. Room cold due the air con plates cold so food look warm. Had a good time but will not return.

The trip started out 5/5 but a few little annoyances have pushed our rating down. Firstly, booked a romantic dinner on the beach but due to poor weather they tried to locate us to a cabana outside one of the restaurants with all the diners looking in on us. There was no communication or contact with us to check we were happy with the changes. However they did agree to rebook to a different night. Luckily on the rebooked date, we checked a little earlier that all was good and no-one actually knew we had rebooked so a hurried make up of the table on the beach had to be organised in order to accommodate us! On our last night we got invited to a special event dinner where 25 guests are selected to be cooked for by the hotel’s executive chef. We got all dressed up for a special last evening and when we arrived at the location we got told the event was the next day! Such a disappointment, no-one seems to know what is going on! On top of this lack of organisation and communication, the seaweed on the beach absolutely stinks so on a few evenings we were unable to use our balcony, nor use preferred guest area on the beach as the smell is so awful. Should have been an amazing trip but these things spoilt it for us. We won’t be returning.
