Excellent hotel , more geared towards a short stay rather than a 2 week vacation. Staff were excellent , food was also really good but only 3 restaurants open each day during our stay which got repetitive for a longer holiday. Rooms were really clean, spacious and well maintained. Coffee shop was a lovely touch with a great selection of cakes pastries, coffees and ice cream and sorbet. Hotel was also well situated for going out and about in Playa Del Carmen. We felt safe to wander out in the town as always lots of police and army presence . Beach was not good and we didn’t go on it at all. Lots of seaweed which is normal for this time of year but also the depth of sand didn’t allow for a stroll along it with the row of cabanas taking up the full depth of sand. No sunbeds could fit on the beach in front of the cabanas and they were placed at an angle. However the pools were excellent and plenty of sunbeds and shade to be had so I personally didn’t miss the beach.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is very clean and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The restaurants were excellent along with the service. The only thing we didn’t like was the daytime entertainment, it felt like a spring break atmosphere. Although the resort can’t control the behavior of the guests, we believe it was due to the loud obnoxious music that they were playing. It created a party like atmosphere and certainly not what we were expecting at an adults only resort. They do have a quiet pool, which was amazing and peaceful for the times we felt like relaxing. But the area is too small to accommodate guests who are seeking peace and quiet. The beach was a disappointment, but we knew that prior to coming, due to the Sargasm. There were crews cleaning every day, but it was just too overwhelming for them to keep up with. No fault of the resort at all. Other than the spring break party atmosphere, we have zero complaints as to the service, cleanliness, and location of the hotel. We would consider coming back if the daytime entertainment didn't exist.

“A Fantastic Stay”

This is one of the best all-inclusive hotels I have stayed in. **The location** is just off 5th Avenue. We had planned to use the hotel as a base and explore the area, but it was so nice that we ended up not leaving nearly as much as we had planned! **The beach** – yes, there is a seaweed problem, but that affects the whole area and isn’t something the hotel can control. The hotel does its best to manage it and keep the beach as clean as possible. **The pool** was fantastic, and the foam party was brilliant. We rented cabanas for two days and used a normal sun lounger on another day. The staff were attentive wherever we were. My only disappointment was with one of the cabana days. The guests in the next cabana invited a large group over who were drinking heavily, and at one point people actually sat on our cabana bed. I would have appreciated the staff being a little more vigilant and dealing with the situation, as it was very awkward and I ultimately had to ask them to move. **The restaurants** were varied and all of a really high standard. We stayed for a week and never felt like the food was repetitive, and we didn’t even make it to all of the restaurants. Visits to all but one were included, with no limit on how often you could visit. Aromas was also a lovely place to grab an iced coffee. **The room** faced the road, but there was plenty of greenery outside so you could barely tell. It was spacious and had a hammock on the balcony, although we never actually got around to using the balcony or the jet tub! The housekeeping was excellent, and the room was cleaned to an incredibly high standard every day. **One thing we didn’t know about** was the hotel app. Another guest mentioned it to us on our second-to-last day, so unfortunately we didn’t realise that this was where you could book activities or check which restaurants were open. That information is also available at the restaurants and in the lobby, so it wasn’t a major issue, but it would have been helpful to know about the app when we arrived. I chose this hotel for my birthday, and the staff left a lovely dessert and a note in the room, which was a really thoughtful touch. Overall, it had everything I wanted: great food, fantastic staff, a lovely pool area – and my glass was never empty! I would highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay again. Thanks, Hyatt!

First time here and I probably wouldn’t go back. Rooms : First room we got overlooked the quiet pool ( building 4). I liked the view but the room smelled like sewage. On my third day they changed my room. ( building 2) Much better smell and view of the pool and ocean. The rooms were nice but the mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable. And the toilet seat broke in our 2nd room. Staff : probably the best part of this resort. They were very nice ( well , all but the bellhop that had to move our bags from room to room. Food : the restaurants were very nice but I was not too impressed by the food. I think they should add an Italian restaurant:) and the barefoot grill needs more options for being the only walk up food by the pool Drinks : My favs were Sammy Sosa , pina colodas , Miami vice, dirty monkey and Bahama mamas. Pools : the pools were dirty. They should not allow people to eat in the pool. Entertainment: I participated in the only 3 craft activities they did in morning ( dream catcher , bracelet and keychain ). They need to have more going on during the day. I also found the evening shows to be lackluster. But I was told it’s low season so not too much going on. The foam party was fun Check in : took way too long and they don’t tell you some things that would be nice to know. ( that you can get a bracelet in place of a card for your room. To use the app to book things. That you can have slippers and robes ). The crowd : way too young of a crowd for my taste. So many loud and rowdy “kids” that barely looked of drinking age. The beach ; I knew there was a small beach but how little of one there is was a real disappointment. All the seaweed didn’t help matters any. I now see a beach is a dealbreaker for me They are also really pushy on the “ eating breakfast and learning about Hyatt perks “. No is a no ! The best thing is that the resort itself is gorgeous. And I love 5th avenue being right there. I spent many nights walking the streets since there is no fun night activity on resort. Senor frogs is a must to visit ! I love Mexico but after 2 days I was ready to leave
