“Royal Hideaway Playacar Review 05/2026”
Small and quiet place to relax and enjoy great food and service. Beach was kept up as much as possible due to the sargassum. Staff is awesome and sincerely cared about customers.

“Royal Hideaway Resort”
Food was great. Carlos Q and Reberto at the Grill were great. The beet salad and grilled surf and turf taco were very good and the Ribeye and Salman were good too. Love the hotel. “Pretty good”
Stay was pretty good. Food was ok- but still leaps and bounds better than other Barceló properties. The restaurants were all very hot inside. There weren't enough pool chairs that weren't "reserved".

“Royal Hideaway”
Have loved this resort in past visits, currently it seems to need a facelift, feels old. AC couldn't keep up so the rooms were warm. Food was decent. Breakfast needs more variety. The gluten free choices were limited. It's a small resort and somewhat quiet, both positives for us. Great location!
