My favorite was mar y Tierra! Great steak and burgers. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful! Churros guy with Santiago was the best. Pool was more fun than beach. The ambience was very nice!

This is our third year visiting the Valentin and we are very pleased with our experience. The resort is beautiful with well manicured lawns, jungle, wildlife. Rooms are beautiful and immaculate. They maintain the beach well clearing sargassum frequently. We cannot express how kind and professional the staff are every year. We would like to comment on the excellent service, especially Virginia at the Golden Pool. This is our third visit and we just love Virginia. She has taken care of us at the silver pool our first stay, beach our second visit, now we have the privilege of her taking care of us again. She remembers us every year, which provides a sense of comfort away from home. She's kind, professional, and anticipates our needs remembering exactly what drinks we like down to always making sure we have bottled water. She is an asset to this resort and we look forward to her every year. As stated, everyone has been treating us excellent but we wanted to let you about the stand out service Virginia provides. We highly recommend this resort!

We recently stayed at Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya and overall had a great experience. I would absolutely return in the future and, as a travel advisor, I would also recommend this property to clients who fit the overall vibe of the resort. This resort has a very traditional Mexican Hacienda feel and charm. Originally built in 2007, much of the property still reflects that original style, although some areas and restaurants have been refreshed over the years. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and extremely well maintained, especially considering the size of the property. This is one of the largest resorts I’ve personally visited, but they do offer golf carts throughout the resort which makes getting around much easier. We stayed in one of the newer Dunas Suites with a private plunge pool and absolutely loved the layout, view, and outdoor space. Sitting on our balcony every morning with coffee and pastries while watching the sunrise became one of our favorite parts of the trip. The suite itself was modern and beautiful, however we did experience a very strong damp and humid smell throughout the stay. The room constantly felt wet and warm, our sheets and clothing always felt damp, and I personally felt very congested during the trip and had some difficulty breathing at times. I’m not sure if this was due to the new construction, the humidity, or having the plunge pool attached to the room, but it is something worth mentioning for anyone sensitive to moisture or mildew smells. The food overall was good for an all-inclusive resort. Our favorite restaurant was the casual lunch spot where we had burgers, spring rolls, pizza, and an excellent espresso martini. We enjoyed most of our meals, although restaurant service could occasionally feel a little slow and there were times drinks were forgotten. We also had some inconsistency with housekeeping and restocking, as our mini fridge and coffee station were never consistently refilled even after tipping. The atmosphere at this resort really caters to a wide variety of travelers. During our stay we saw younger groups celebrating graduations, college-age travelers, couples, middle-aged guests, and older couples as well. The main pool is definitely the lively party pool with games, music, aerobics, spin classes, and lots of daytime entertainment. Depending on the crowd during your stay, it can get very rowdy at times. There were moments where some guests were extremely intoxicated and needed assistance leaving the pool area. For guests wanting something quieter, the relaxation pool and Golden Pool lazy river area were much more peaceful options. The pools themselves were one of the few areas where I felt the resort showed its age the most. There were quite a few missing tiles and older grout that could definitely use refurbishment. Despite that, the staff does a great job maintaining the property overall. The beach and water were beautiful during our stay in early May, although there was definitely some seaweed present and parts of the beach were rocky. The staff worked hard every morning to clean the seaweed, but naturally they couldn’t completely keep up with it at all times. The nighttime entertainment was enjoyable overall and we especially loved the plaza area with live music and DJs in the evenings. One thing I did notice afterward, though, is that there really is not a central indoor bar or lounge area for guests to gather during bad weather. Thankfully we had beautiful weather during our stay, but after visiting another resort afterward during rain, it made me realize this could be a downside during poor weather conditions. The arrival experience was seamless from start to finish. We were greeted from our transfer with cool towels, welcomed with champagne at check-in, and quickly escorted by golf cart directly to our suite with our luggage. The entire process felt smooth, relaxing, and organized. One disappointment for me personally as a travel advisor was that I had noted ahead of time that we were visiting both for a site visit and to celebrate our anniversary. The staff acknowledged our anniversary during check-in, but nothing additional was ever done afterward. Compared to many other resorts I visit professionally, that felt a little disappointing and like a missed opportunity. Overall, I would rate Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya 4 out of 5 stars. I think this is a fantastic resort for travelers looking for a fun, social, tropical all-inclusive with beautiful grounds and a classic Mexican resort feel. While I personally would not classify it as a true luxury resort, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and would absolutely consider returning in the future.

This was my 8th time visiting Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya, and honestly I was a bit disappointed this time. The resort, beach, and pool are still beautiful, but the service and food have changed a lot compared to previous visits. Before, everyone was welcoming, friendly, and smiling. This time, many staff members seemed unhappy and not very attentive. I do want to give a huge shout out to Sonia and her team at Bar Heaven because they truly made our pool days enjoyable. Also, a big thank you to all the staff who took care of us at the beach — I forgot their names, but they were outstanding. Service at Hacienda was fantastic, and Doña Maria made amazing quesadillas. Breakfast at Mar y Tierra was definitely my favorite. The guys working at the café in the afternoons were amazing as well. Other than that, everything else was just okay. I really hope Valentin brings back the level of service and quality that made me fall in love with this resort years ago.
