From the moment you arrive, you’re wrapped in a beautifully bohemian, almost spiritual atmosphere that instantly calms your entire being. It feels less like a hotel and more like a sanctuary — peaceful, grounding, and deeply connected to the natural magic of Tulum. The beachfront property is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the sound of the waves, walking barefoot through the sand, and watching the sun rise over the ocean is something I will never forget. The setting is pure paradise — effortlessly beautiful, serene, and soul-refreshing. But what truly makes Delek extraordinary is the people. The staff here are the definition of world-class hospitality — not just professional, but genuinely caring, attentive, and committed to making you feel seen, valued, and completely taken care of. It is rare to find a place that blends such a stunning beachfront escape with such soulful energy and five-star service. Delek Tulum is something special — a retreat you carry with you long after you leave. We cannot recommend it enough, and I already know I will be back.

We stayed at DELEK Tulum for five nights in February to escape the wet English winter, and overall, it was a memorable experience. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Tulum Beach, and from the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We were greeted with a shot of tequila on arrival and a complimentary cocktail on the beach while our room was being prepared — such a lovely touch! Our room was beautiful, full of character, and very comfortable. The beach restaurant offered delicious food at very reasonable prices compared to other resorts in the area. We also loved that the hotel organiseddaytime DJs; the music added a great vibe to the beach and really enhanced our stay. A huge shout-out to Karen and Pao — they were incredible hosts, attentive, and genuinely made us feel looked after throughout our stay. That said, there are a few things to be aware of. Our visit coincided with a wedding at the hotel. While it only affected the beach restaurant for one evening, it left the hotel quieter than expected and slightly impacted the atmosphere we had seen on social media. On one afternoon, it felt like the wedding guests took priority, and service for us was a little slow. However, after we communicated this to reception, their service and attentiveness were unquestionable. The biggest issue, though entirely outside the hotel’s control, was the noise from the club opposite the property. Music played until 12:30 AM most nights (1:00 AM on Saturday), and it was so loud that we physically couldn’t sleep until it stopped. The hotel was very helpful with providing earplugs and white noise, and we appreciated their attempts to comfort guests affected by the noise. However, if you’re a light sleeper, have young children, or want an early night, this is unlikely to be the right hotel for you. My partner spent weeks searching for a hotel, and the noise was never mentioned in reviews — it’s important to highlight this so others can make an informed choice. Despite that, the care and attention from the staff truly made our stay special. DELEK Tulum has gorgeous rooms, a fantastic location, and a wonderful team — just be aware of the noise factor before booking.

“Beautiful but expensive and loud”

Delek itself is beautiful -- the rooms, the beach, the service, and the food & drinks were very tasty. Staff was kind and capable. HOWEVER... we’ve been coming to Tulum since 2006 and have always loved it as a special place to relax. Sadly, it has changed. It’s now difficult to truly relax due to the extremely high prices and loud music until 1am every night. I also found the bed uncomfortable — the mattress was sagging and caused some back pain. At this price point, it really should be replaced. If we wanted loud music and a party atmosphere, we would stay in Cancun. We come to Tulum for peace & relaxation. We paid about $400/night during the first week of March (off-season, garden room). That’s expensive, but we assumed (wrongly) that other costs would be relatively low. Instead, every single thing in the Tulum beach area was exorbitantly priced: • $350 USD for a 2-person round-trip shuttle from CUN to Tulum (not including tips) • $100 USD for a 5.7-mile round-trip taxi to town • $116 USD for TACOS for two and one margarita (with a sweet begging dog) • $388 USD for a sushi dinner with a very small shared portion • $86 USD for a shared whole fish for lunch on the beach • $20 USD for guacamole (in MEXICO, where avocados come from) • $10 USD for a small bowl of fries Totally insane. NEVER AGAIN! We don't pay anywhere near those prices in our expensive big city in the U.S. (Washington DC). I'd say it's 200-300% more than what things cost here. For what we spent on this 4-night trip, we could have taken a two-week trip almost anywhere in Europe or Asia. Sadly, we won’t be returning to Tulum. We’ll have to find a new place to relax when we need a getaway. If you don't mind overpaying for things and a party atmosphere, then it IS a very nice resort --- but it's not for us. There was also a lot of seaweed, but it didn't bother me that much -- may be an issue for others.
