We stayed here for our honeymoon with TUI and honestly had the best time. I’d seen quite a few negative reviews before we travelled, but that really wasn’t our experience. We upgraded to stay in the Premium building, and while I’m not sure I’d say the room itself felt particularly “premium”, it was still very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and kept immaculate throughout our stay by the housekeeping team. One of the biggest highlights for us was the Premium pool and bar. It was always peaceful and relaxing, which was exactly what we were looking for. We also spent a lot of time down by the beach, especially around the beach BBQ, as we preferred that area. The sea was incredible, we saw a stingray and loads of people were out snorkling regularly. Even though we travelled during the Easter holidays, we never had any trouble getting a Bali bed, which was a pleasant surprise. The food was another real positive. Breakfast at the beachfront buffet was fantastic, and the beach barbecue was absolutely phenomenal. We also loved the themed evenings, particularly the Mexican night, the street food night and the beach night. The only meal that disappointed us slightly was the Italian restaurant, but every other dining experience was excellent. Although we didn’t receive the honeymoon package because our stay wasn’t long enough to qualify, we still had an amazing time. The hotel is in a beautiful location, has a lovely atmosphere, and we left with some fantastic memories. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and would happily return in the future.

Eldorado Seaside Palms: The Adults-Only Paradise That Actually Delivered We loved this place. Like, “this is what a vacation is supposed to feel like” loved it. Bali beds kissing the ocean, rooms so clean you could eat off the floor (not that we tried), service that anticipates your needs before you realize you have them, and food that occasionally hits you with those bright, beautiful “why am I emotional over a taco?” moments. The adults-only policy? Yes please. I adore children. I made some. But there’s something spiritually cleansing about not hearing “Marco!” every 47 seconds. Food Scene (Low-Season Edition) Most of the restaurants were solidly “fine” — which, in resort land, is actually excellent. We hit July, so not every spot was open every night. We shrugged, rotated, and still managed to sample pretty much everything. Mission accomplished.Beach Barbecue: Burritos, pizza, and guacamole so good it deserves its own zip code. La Carreta: Daily tacos with fresh, homemade tortillas and carnitas that would make your abuela weep with pride. We scored a patio table by the pier at sunset — candlelight, waves, zero kids. Romance level: dangerous. Easily the best meal of the trip. Culinarium: Legit standout. Great plates, even better service. Nighttime HQ: Mezcalito for drinks. AC was not keeping up with the heat, but the bartenders sure did! The drink menu is superb and the cocktails were amazing. Guacamayas Bar. Pedro is a national treasure. The man makes every drink taste like it was personally negotiated with the gods of mixology. Consistent, strong, and delivered with a smile that says “I’ve seen worse decisions than this one, amigo.” We basically lived there after dark. Room Service: 24/7. Sometimes great, sometimes “eh,” but even mediocre room service beats the existential dread of no room service. The Beach Situation Yes, there’s sargassum. They rake like absolute warriors, but Mother Nature is undefeated in low season. It never ruined our vibe, but if you want postcard perfection, do what we did: day-trip to Maroma Beach. No weeds, same vibe, just better filtration. Pro move. Pools Main pool by the beach = our spirit animal. Bali bed + ocean soundtrack + margarita in hand = instant dopamine. Zero chair wars (low season perk). It was chill during the day — almost suspiciously peaceful. Luis and Claudia ran Zumba and activities like enthusiastic cruise directors; we half-assed a couple and still felt like champions.The “quiet” pool stayed quiet for us. We just used it as a fancy drink refill station. Worked great. Excursions (“More Inclusive” Experience) Lower your expectations slightly and you’ll have a blast. We did the catamaran/snorkel trip. Short ride, tiny reef, mandatory life jackets (we looked like fluorescent Michelin men). The snorkel itself was… modest. But the post-snorkel cruise through big waves while sipping drinks? Chef’s kiss. Maroma Beach Club food was excellent — same DNA as the resort but dressed up for company. Only complaint: that beach club needs a pool, Lomas. I’m not asking. I’m telling. Final Verdict Will we be back? Solid YEP. When I picture the perfect Mexican beach vacation in my head, Eldorado Seaside Palms is the image that loads. It’s not flawless, but it’s flawlessly us. 10/10 would adult again. Pedro, save us a stool.

Hmm… to be completely honest, I’m genuinely struggling to understand why TUI markets this as a specialist TUI BLUE resort. Having visited Mexico six times and stayed at numerous 4 and 5-star hotels across Cancun and the Riviera Maya, this is without question the worst resort we’ve experienced. The hotel is tired, dated and in desperate need of investment. The rooms have no premium feel whatsoever and certainly don’t reflect the standard you would expect from the way this property is advertised. There is nothing about them that feels luxurious, modern or authentically Mexican. What was even more disappointing was the service. Staff repeatedly told us how quiet the resort was due to the low season, yet despite having far fewer guests to look after, the customer service was consistently poor. Ordering a drink often felt like an inconvenience, room service was painfully slow, and there was a complete lack of urgency across the resort. Nobody seemed interested in delivering the level of service you’d expect from a hotel claiming to offer a premium experience. The seaweed situation was exactly as bad as the negative reviews suggested. Before travelling I assumed people were exaggerating, but they weren’t. The smell of rotting seaweed was overwhelming, making it impossible to relax on the beach, and swimming in the Caribbean Sea simply wasn’t an option for the duration of our stay. While I appreciate this is a natural issue affecting the region, prospective guests deserve to understand just how severely it impacts this particular stretch of coastline. The facilities are equally underwhelming. There are four relatively small pools and nowhere near enough sunbeds. Unless you’re prepared to claim one before 9am, don’t expect to find a decent place to sit for the rest of the day. For a resort of this size, the facilities are inadequate. Before booking, I noticed a number of poor reviews but dismissed many of them because of the hotel’s overall 4.6 rating. Looking back, those reviewers were absolutely right. This resort falls well below the standard that rating suggests. It lacks quality, atmosphere, attention to detail and any sense of luxury. It feels like a hotel that has been left behind while other resorts in the Riviera Maya have continued to improve. Perhaps the biggest concern is that every guest we spoke to during our stay said they wouldn’t return. Reading the management responses to reviews afterwards only reinforced my opinion—they appear to copy and paste the same generic reply regardless of the feedback. It gives the impression that criticism is acknowledged publicly but ignored privately, with no meaningful effort to improve the guest experience. If you’re comparing this resort with others on the TUI website, my advice is simple: book somewhere else. Even if this hotel is one of the cheaper options, it still doesn’t represent good value for money. It isn’t luxurious, it isn’t memorable for the right reasons, and it certainly doesn’t deserve the premium branding attached to it. I will also be contacting TUI directly because I believe they should seriously reconsider whether this property meets the standards expected of the TUI BLUE brand. The only consistently positive aspect of our stay was that the grounds are well maintained and beautifully landscaped. Unfortunately, attractive gardens alone aren’t enough to compensate for dated accommodation, poor service, overcrowded pool areas and an unusable beach. For a two-week holiday, those are the things that matter most—and this resort failed on almost every one of them.
