I visited this resort the end of June 2026. I stood in the family selection villa 51, the butler's daniel and Katherine were amazing. They actually went above and beyond to every request I had. The resort is extremely clean, the live shows were great and plenty of activities for the kids.

We were at the resort from June 27 to July 7, 2026. This isn’t our first stay at the resort and full disclosure we are travel club members. We were supposed to have the roof top pool beachfront suite room for 10 nights. Upon arrival at the resort Victor from the travel club met us at our transportation, not uncommon for returning members to be met. He took us to the travel club check in lobby at Kantenah. After getting there he asked to speak with myself privately. This is when he informed me that we weren’t getting our room that we had booked because the resort was overbooked on those rooms, turns out we found out later from another source that they allowed someone to pay to upgrade to the room and that was the cause of the over booking! We were first offered a jr suite swim up beachfront, a large downgrade in space and price over what we booked. Victor went back and was able to get us into a Suite beachfront for the first 3 nights and then the next 7 moved to what we booked, Rooftop pool beachfront suite. Victor was great in helping with this since it wasn’t his fault but the hotels fault! This is a common issue for members that travel on benefit weeks that they’ll bump them down for others looking for an upgrade. The beachfront suite was the same size room as the rooftop pool one but just lacked the pool and extra half bath. The suite is great because it has either 1 king or 2 double beds in the bedroom and a pullout bed in the living room. There’s 2 full bathrooms with the one in the bedroom having the bathtub. This is perfect for those traveling with families who want or need extra space. Once we got the rooftop pool room it was great because we could sit in the pool and relax anytime, plus this pool was cooler than any other pool on the resort. We used the Colonial, White Sand, Members Only and TRS Infinity pools. The White Sand pool is shallow being only 3’11” deep now but due to the darker tiles and lack of depth the water was very warm, probably close to 90-95F with little to no breeze. There was either a DJ or band daily here. Colonial pool is much deeper at 5’3” and also cooler than White Sand due to white tile and deeper water, probably in the mid 80s. This one lacked music most days. The members pool is very quiet due to the season and the fact that is not in a great location to get to. You get music from the White Sand pool. The TRS Infinity pool is probably one of the best pools as it over looks the ocean so you get the view, a nice breeze, and is cooler too about the mid 80s. The TRS pool is also shallower around the 4’ deep again. We ate at Portofino twice, and the service was very different between the 2. First time we were sat and food service was good with everything being hot and tasted good. The second time we got a bar cart that came to the table and made special drinks. Also the second time we got traditional bread with oil and vinegar at the table. Jennifer was amazing during this service. We had the Brazilian restaurant once and it was alright but some issues with service. We never got the bread that we were supposed to get and all other tables got. As well it felt rushed because before we could barely start one meat the next was being pushed on us. But once again the food overall was good. We ate at the Eldorado restaurant twice and both times the steaks were hot, tender and juicy. Nothing stood out here good or bad. We also did the Hibachi table twice and this was a let down both nights. The first night the food was rushed with the chicken being over cooked. Elements were missing from the show like the onion volcano and train. As well everything lacked flavour. The second show was horrible! The chef did 1 big fire on the grill to start and that was it! No spinning of the utensils, no catching of the food, no tossing of the eggs, nothing other than the 1 fire! Food this time was slightly better but still not great. As always we take in Chic as this is one of the highlights of this resort! The food is more of a tasting menu offered over 7 courses which includes shots. The show that accompanies this food is amazing with some thing for everyone! This is a must see if you are at this resort even if the food isn’t your thing. This time we took in Bravo which is sold as a family show like Chic, but it’s not like Chic at all. You order off a menu which being a family restaurant is a bit on the exotic side for most families with kids. The entertainment when it’s there is great but there’s massive lulls between the 1 singer and 2 dancers can be up to 15 minutes between them. Most of us had finished our meals and there was still an hour left in the show, many people left before the end. As well during the show one parent allowed their kid to run around the restaurant while the entertainment was out causing them to have to work around them. This was disruptive to the show. Once again the best place to get a drink is from Ernesto in the PTC bar! He can make anything and everything he makes comes out the way it should. If you don’t have access to here the TRS Infinity pool bar and Sandcastle bars are great alternatives! 2 of the biggest disappointments this time was the entertainment. First the White Party was cancelled on because they decided to host a Mexico World Cup viewing party, but no communication was given on this so most guests were dressed in white looking for the party only to be told wasn’t happening because of the Mexico game. People from around the world were here and most didn’t care about the World Cup! The second let down was this year the resort, upper managements decision, decided not to celebrate Canada Day. They’ve always celebrated it up until this year! Now this would have been find except that 3 days later they decided they were going to celebrate July 4! It was a large party like they used to do for both Canada Day and July 4. If you’re going to do 1 you should do them both! We felt it was a large slap in the face to only get a Happy Canada Day during Chic nothing else! Overall the staff at the resort are great and is the reason we come back. The resort is beautiful and for the most part well maintained!
