Great hotel and resort, exactly what is advertised, cannot understand why people are complaining on reviews that it is not on the beach as it states it on the website Arrived just after lunch and we were greeted by very friendly front of house staff, we were shown to our room and the man taking our cases explained where everything was and showed us all the restaurants he was very professional and a credit to the hotel. We were give a ground floor single storey room backing onto the golf course and it was very nice, clean and spacious, the room was lovely and had been dressed with flowers and swans on the bed with a nice letter from the management congratulating us on my birthday and our wedding anniversary and also left a bottle of bubbly with fruit and sweets. I found the bed very uncomfortable as I suffer with my hips so after the first night I called the front desk and asked if they had a mattress topper and it was straight there and it was brand new and really thick, cannot thank them enough for the prompt service I had the best sleep for the next 13 nights. Our room maid Camilla was amazing and could not do enough for us the room was spotless every day with fresh towels and toiletries when we requested them, again a real credit to the hotel. Food was good and plenty of choice with the restaurants on site couldn’t fault it at all and the staff in all of them are really friendly and helpful, set a table for our friends birthday with balloons and a cake great service. The entertainment team were very good and Arnold was so friendly and chatty, they all worked very hard throughout the day and evening, although I would say the entertainment was a bit better the 2nd week with more live singers and shows I found the first week was just dancing and miming to songs although this is no fault on the entertainment team as they worked hard I just think the management need to look at the shows they put on as some nights what was advertised did not happen, also they did not let you know the steak house was closed on the party nights until you went to book in the morning and also the first week, we was at the pool for the foam party and it did not happen and we only found out later that they were doing it at the beach pool if we had known before hand we would have gone to the beach for it. The one thing I did not like was the man who my friend arranged the party with for his wife worked really hard on the night setting it all up and waiting on all 6 of us and when he was tipped another man standing at the door took what looked like most of the tip off him and put it in his pocket although he did nothing at all to serve us, I presume he was his higher boss as he was dressed in a black shirt. Another annoying point was the beach towels, we did not give them in the one evening as the hut was closed and when we went to change them for clean ones the next day the man would not change them stating we can only have new ones once a day and should have brought them back for the cards the day before and made us keep them but then a man who spoke the same language brought back wet towels and he swapped them straight away which I thought was unfair. The resort was very clean and tidy with staff constantly doing the gardens and cleaning up after people around the pool and entertainment area, the on site shop was very expensive so we used the shop at the end of the drive. Bus service to the beach was very good and dropped you at the end of the drive with a short walk to the beach area which had lots of beds, only thing I would say is there is not much shade down there even under the trees, and maybe you should have little beach umbrellas that you could rent if required I noticed some people had brought their own that could be brought from the local shops, restaurant is very good with a good selection of food and drink, only thing I found were quite a few of the beds were broken and could do with being replaced and alot of the plastic cups were cracked at the bottom so leaked Another thing I noticed that happed a lot was we could not use the Rui palaces facilities and I totally understand as they pay more to stop there but there was a lot of their customers eating at the lupita restaurant and taking up the sun beds that were for our hotel I did not think this was fair at all. Again entertainment team worked hard with activities on the beach. I liked the fact that it was a smaller hotel and not as busy and loud as some Of the beach front hotels, it was very laid back and relaxed I would defiantly stay here again, some people complained about the animals roaming around but I liked seeing them all and they did not bother us at all I would definitely stay here again as it was well worth the money it costs

Wonderful stay at Riu Lupita, April 15 to 22, 2024. From arrival through the buffet, a la cartes, bar service, beach and entertainment, everything exceeded our expectations. We received a room on the floor and in the building we pre requested via an email and if there was anything we needed, we used the Riu app and it was at our room in fifteen minutes. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the manager met us at our room at check in to ensure everything was satisfactory, a nice personal touch. The resort is very small and has both a family and more mature vibe (we are in our mid 50s). The quiet pool is very relaxing and very quiet. It seems folks on their loungers even speak in hushed tones. Shuttle to beach ran on time and was very convenient. I had some concerns about not being on the beach directly, but it was fine. Three suggestions, get a new supplier for your hamburgers, they were the only food option I found that was not good if not great. Offer a few extra options to purchase bottles of wine in the a la cartes, instead of just house wine. Finally, add a walk in option at the quiet pool instead of just the pool ladder. It attracts mature portion of your guests and would ease it use for them.

First things first, order a couple more pillows as are you're checking in, you'll need them. Overall, as Riu hotel, we were very disappointed. If you're reading this, you're like me and look at 'opinions" before you book / arrive. I don't recall reading any reviews mentioning cold food but, (this is for the buffet restaurant) the food is barely luke warm, even if you arrive at the specified opening times, this was the same at all 3 sittings. And I I don't mean some of the food I mean all of the food. Just bare this is mind if like us and everyone else in the World, you like hot food. Now on the other hand, the Italian a la carte was outstanding. The starters which was a buffet style was excellent and actually hot and the bread was soo fresh. Yes the rooms were basic but were clean and cleaned daily (just remember the pillows). It's advertised that the mini bar is re-stocked very 2 days... I had to constantly as for pepsi, 7up beer etc. If I hadn't requested it, I dare say the vodka would have been empty by the time we checked out. Pool area... lovely and plenty of beds, we never struggled even after coming back from the beach, pool was cleaned regularly too. Beach... outstanding, make sure you go within your first couple of days as I think you'll spend everyday there then. The only downside was the horrendous walk back to the bus. This was purely down to the heat as unlike the beach area, there was no breeze whatsoever. If you're smokers like us, the "exclusive smoking area" definitely needs some shade as through the day it was simply unbearable. There is a non advertised smoking "bit" but you've gotta find it. The Friday party night at another Riu (Riu Tequila) was amazing, make sure you go! The remaining point... would be go again? No! This is purely down to cold food, you can't eat Italian every night. If you haven't booked yet, can you afford an extra couple of hundred £? If so, book Riu Tequila. We were gutted when we saw the huuuuuge difference when we went for party night.
