We traveled with our twelve year old son, my husband and I often go to the TRS section of this resort, but for this trip, we traveled with our son and my parents also traveled with us. Staying at this section allows us access to their three sister adjoining resorts, colonial, white sands and the adults could visit the adults only TRS portion. We splurged and got the rooftop pool room in building 40, and it was amazing. We had an amazing view and our own private pool. It's a great room, but I do want to caution folks that there's a lot of stairs to get up to the pool. My parents had the swim out room and I think in the future I may choose that room as well, it was great to be able to just walk out to the pool. The thing that made this vacation so amazing was the wonderful staff! So many of them went out of their way to make sure our vacation was relaxing and enjoyable. This section of the resort also has butler service, We had two amazing butlers for our building: Luis and Emmanuel, they checked in with us daily to see if we needed anything. They were usually at their desk right in the building. Lobby, unless they were assisting guests. So they were very easy to reach. They sent us a daily text through the free "Whatsapp" Application to let us know any daytime activities, they helped us make dinner reservations, call a golf cart to take us to restaurants or lobbies. They made sure we had anything that we needed. I really appreciated that at the family selection area of the beach they had sunscreen, and towels and even beach toys for the kids. The beach bar which was just steps from our building, had soft serve Ice cream and popcorn daily, which was really nice. Each night we would have turn down service in our room. They would make up my son's sofa bed, and do a freshening up in the whole room the Mini bar was included and filled daily was juice, water, and soda for my son. And if we left them a note that we wanted something else, they would make sure to leave it for us. One of our favorite restaurants was the Nest, which is only available for the family Select guests or guests staying at TRS. The food was great, and the service was amazing. Raul and Lazcano just spoiled my son. They made him feel very special. He really did like going to the kids club as well, and they had bowling, it's an additional charge, but he really enjoyed it. Another great advantage to staying at the family selection portion is that we, as adults had access to the adults only section TRS, so one evening, my husband and I hired Fernanda P. to watch my son and he just loved her. I would definitely recommend if anyone's staying there and wants an evening out to contact her to see if she's available. She is well worth it! ( it is an additional charge. You pay her cash the night that she watches the children, but it's very reasonable, and she was amazing.) When we went to TRS , Jose at the lobby bar made me the best pineapple drink. I've had in my entire life! We ate at La Boheme, and chef David made some of the best food we've ever had, not just at all inclusives, it was definitely one of the top five best meals of my life! Ruben was our waiter, snd he made a special and fun dessert! My husband and I i also had breakfast one morning at TRS at Helios, and Martha C. was our waitress, And she was so incredibly sweet and attentive, she is a superstar. All the staff continually checked in with us to see if there was anything we needed, including the executive director Roxana Alvarez, honestly, the staff makes everyone feel like celebrities there! I witnessed (in passing ) a wedding.... And it just looked absolutely beautiful, the next day I saw the bride, at the pool, and she said they had the most special experience and was extremely happy with her wedding there. She told me they had an amazing wedding coordinator there named Ale Rivera. She said ay first, she was nervous booking something while in another another country, but she said Ale took care of everything, and everything went perfectly ,and her guests we're having a fantastic time. I would definitely recommend this resort for families. A couple of things that I would recommend to guests that are going to be coming soon: bring an insulated tumblr/cup with a straw, the bartenders will fill it up for you and it will stay colder longer, bring plenty of sun protection. You know a hat, and more sunscreen than you think, you might need because that sun is strong, water shoes are great for walking on the hot beach, and so that you won't slip, I also recommend for the adults not to miss the chic show at TRS. If you can over at TRS, or to the Bravo dinner show with the whole family. Both do have an extra cost, but it's well worth it, and lots of fun. My last tip is I kindly encourage you to bring some small bills to tip these hardworking employees. If you're from a country that's not used to tipping. I just encourage you to build some into your budget for tipping. This is a country where they do pay the workers less because they rely on guests to tip, and the employees really appreciate anything ypu can give, I will say no one will ever put their hand out, or ask for it or make you feel obligated to do so, can they give great service before I've even tipped? So They don't only give good service to people that tip, But once you see how hard they work for you, you want to think of a way to say thank you. Another tip, If you're staying there, or actually before you visit, download the free palladium app and it will tell you all the activities they have and which days the restaurants are open. You can look at the menus in the restaurants. It's a really helpful resource. Also on certain nights at the colonial lobby, they have an art and vendor fair, which was great. I bought some souvenirs there. My favorite was the glass artist. Miguel, he can make beautiful a statues of your pets And a lot of people have had statues made after their pets have passed away as a beautiful memorial, he really captures their personalities it's amazing. I hope everyone has safe travels. And I look forward to traveling to this location again and seeing all these wonderful employees! We are already planning our next trip there.
