Sea Star Budva I am happy to write a review to describe my stay at the Sea Star Hotel for three nights between the 19th and 22nd September 2025. I travelled with a close friend of mine, and the hotel lived up to its 5 star billing. Upon arrival, the professionalism of the reception staff was clear to see. They were friendly, productive and efficient, always ready to assist with a warm smile. Check in was simple enough, we arrived very early due to getting the first flight out of Gatwick, so our room was not quite ready yet, but we were provided with welcome drinks to sip whilst we waited for it to be ready. The front of house staff were consistently helpful - whether it was booking transport, offering local recommendations or simply greeting guests with true hospitality and understanding. The selection of food at breakfast time was another positive aspect of my stay.. Each morning I was presented with a generous spread of fresh fruits, bread, and hot dishes. One of the best aspects of the hotel is its quick and easy access to the beach. Just a short stroll from the hotel lobby, and you are on the scenic Becici beachfront, which is idea for morning steps or winding down at sunset. The great location makes it perfect for beach lovers who want to catch the rays of the sun and get a nice tan. The rooms were an added bonus, with ample space available in the bathroom, and also to receive guests if you so wish. The balcony had a partial sea view (Room 103) and as my friend and I are football enthusiasts (Soccer for my American friends) we were mightily surprised to find out that the satellite TV in our room showed the LIVE weekend English Premier League fixtures, meaning on Sunday afternoon we could chill out in the room and not have to venture out into the Old Town. Overall, Sea Star Hotel provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Anyone visiting Budva, Montenegro, could do a lot worse than this hotel, especially if you are looking for comfort, great service and closeness to the sea. Top Tips/Advice Some of the taxi drivers are unscrupulous. Always let the reception team book you a taxi if you want to go to the Old Town (taxi takes around 15 minutes to get the Old Town versus a 50 minute walk). Getting a taxi back from the Old Town, some taxi drivers change the meter rate to double, so watch out for this scam. If possible try to negotiate a fare before getting in, and if you cant do this then make sure you get in a car where the driver accepts cards. The fare range is between 8 euros and 16 euros. I got stung on one of my taxi trips for 25 euros, which is extortionate for a distance of basically 3 and 3 quarter miles. You have been warned. Gym is small, and is usually quieter after 10am, so bear this in mind if you are into your fitness.

This is a great hotel, the location is great, right on the beach and has its own beach. A lot of restaurants near by and the old city is a short drive from the hotel. The hotel has free parking. The hotel upgraded our rooms free of charge and the rooms are great, new and spacious with a kitchen and a very nice view. The breakfast is great and everyone will be able to find something to eat there, the food is fresh and tasty. The hotel staff is very friendly, our children made a mess on the wall in the room, we updated the staff, they came to take a look, smiled at us and said that it's completely fine, every interection with the staff was with a smile and a good attitude. Can't say anything bad about the hotel, highly recommended.

“Busy resort at peak season”

Lovely rooms..Breakfast good range of choices. Swimming pool very small same applies to gym. Staff seem to be hit and miss with friendly smiles, the same with their restaurant. Beach sun-beds are free for hire guests but also open to the public to pay for sun-beds etc. Night time can be a bit nois… more

Lovely rooms..Breakfast good range of choices. Swimming pool very small same applies to gym. Staff seem to be hit and miss with friendly smiles, the same with their restaurant. Beach sun-beds are free for hire guests but also open to the public to pay for sun-beds etc. Night time can be a bit noisy mainly from outside. We arrived during peak season so resort was extremely busy and crowded. Not a lot to do during the evening but a walk to the old town takes under an hour and is quite a pleasant walk.

“A 4.5 star hotel at the moment”

Our view this is 4.5 star hotel recently opened and just needs to tweak things to make it a 5 star hotel. The hotel is in an excellent beachfront location in Becici which is a lovely resort. The staff are friendly and very helpful particularly the reception staff who arranged us taxis and a transfer to Tivat through Elite Transfers and the driver Savo was brilliant, he spoke excellent English and was very informative and his car was immaculate and the price very reasonable. We were given a free upgrade to a delux apartment on the 8th floor with a fantastic sea view. This was a wonderful room and very much appreciated. The room had everything you could want and was very clean and it looked like we were the first to use it. Where we think the hotel needs to improve:- 1. The breakfast choice is very good but it could do with an egg station where fresh omelettes and poached eggs are made rather than have prepared omelettes in food warmers which didn’t really keep them warm and they looked unappealing. Most 5 star hotels have these or a menu offering them. 2. They need better coffee machines as all the coffees were far too sweet due to the milk the machine uses and you have to pay to get one made. 3. The pool is tiny and virtually nowhere to sit around it so the beach is used by everyone and sunbeds and towels are provided. The sunbed guys work hard and are very friendly. However, you have to walk across the road and across the sand which is hot and awkward to walk on so they need to put some wooden boards/walkways down to the sunbeds. The sunbeds could do with being better quality and have cushions on them. The hotel should also provide a drinks service to the beach again as most other hotels of this level (and lower) do. The beach guys move non residents on quickly which is good. 4. Housekeeping are keen and they even walked in to our room when we were in bed at 8:40am - they did ring the bell but the room shows that it is occupied from the outside. Towards the end of our stay 4 out of 5 of the soap and shampoo dispensers were empty and I had to seek out a member of their team to rectify it but they failed to do anything and 3 hours later I had to go to reception who resolved it very quickly. We really enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again but would want the above resolved before we did as there are several high quality hotels in the area and more being built as we speak.
