This riad is conveniently located inside a Medina. It is a small place with only thirteen rooms that are spread out over a number of floors with very narrow staircases. You can find small rooms everywhere to sit and read or just relax with a drink or a cup of tea. There is a very nice little bar that is open for small plates and drinks in the evening and the bartender is very accommodating. The roof top dining is very nice but can get breezy as you are very close to the ocean and the ramparts. It can get a bit noisy at night with partying and music but generally it quiets down at a somewhat respectful hour. They have a spa with Hamam and massage/spa services that are very good quality at modest pricing.

The second generation owners are taking this place from strength to strength. This place is simply extraordinary.

“Cooking Experience with the fabulous Fatima.”

We enjoyed an incredible cooking experience we booked as part of a four stop holiday finishing in Essaouira. On arrival we met the wonderful Fatima who asked us to choose 3 courses from a traditional Moroccan menu. We chose vegetable samosas, a seafood pasilla and and an orange cake. We then took off to the local markets to choose the ingredients,, monkfish, squid and fresh prawns, the fruit and vegetables and the filo pastry we would use to make the samosas and the Pastilla. Back in the kitchen we got busy chopping and preparing the ingredients and chatting with Fatima about food in general. Under Fatima’s watchful guidance we constructed some beautiful traditional food which Fatima served us in a wonderful private dining room in the Villa Maroc. The food was amazing,so much flavour and texture. Thank you Fatima you are a very talented cook and a great teacher! Claire & Graham from England

“Highly recommend”

Beautiful villa just inside the medina walls. Full of character. Excellent service and happy to help organise taxi to Marrakesh. Cooking class was fun. Enjoyed the hamman. Beautiful villa just inside the medina walls. Full of character. Excellent service and happy to help organise taxi to Marrakesh. Cooking class was fun. Enjoyed the hamman. Very good breakfast with homemade marmalade! (Watch out for the seagulls :)) Very walkable to souks, beach and ramparts. Views from rooftop stunning and plenty of seating areas to shelter from the wind. Room & bed comfortable. (Only slightly off putting was the fact that there was no door or curtain between the bedroom and the bathroom - but it didn’t impact our stay and would definitely stay again).
