“Good visit to Old Panama City”

A nice hotel in the old area of Panama City. the staff was very helpful and nice. The room needed some maintenance since it is an old building.

We love the historic feel of the place. Definitely feels like old Panama. If you want to roll your bag into the room make sure to ask if you can do so. We love the historic feel of the place. Definitely feels like old Panama. If you want to roll your bag into the room make sure to ask if you can do so. We stayed in room 111 and there were steps in the hallway which was inconvenient for large bag. The rooms are comfortable and the church bells did not bother us. Bathroom shower has a lot of water but we never could get it hot enough. Service excellent and friendly. Bar was closed at 7:30 PM. In the past there was always a lot of guest in restaurant and this time there were very few people in general.

“Location - yes, a restful sleep - no”

We stayed in a Panorama room which is relatively large (albeit with a bit of an odd latout) and has an expansive city view.  The bed was comfortable, wi fi was good and service all around was excellent.  The hotel is also in a prime location for exploring Casco.   Two things however were negatives… more

We stayed in a Panorama room which is relatively large (albeit with a bit of an odd latout) and has an expansive city view.  The bed was comfortable, wi fi was good and service all around was excellent.  The hotel is also in a prime location for exploring Casco.   Two things however were negatives.  The first is the room was showing its wear:  lots of nicks in the wood, a sink stopper that didn't work, a big chip in the toilet bowl seat and lots of build up on shower head and faucet.  (The public areas in the hotel however were better maintained).  The second is there is external noise - I.e. an outdoor bar directly across from the hotel that blasted music until 1:30 am.  I appreciated that the hotel provided earplugs but you could still hear the music. With respect to food and drink, we had breakfast at the hotel and it was an fine/average meal.  Unfortunately, although the coffee shop has high quality beans, the espresso shots they served were bitter. This was the first high end hotel in Casco Viejo many years ago. In my opinion there are better options these days - e.g.  The Sofitel or La Compañía where you will get a better sleep although at a higher price.  In the same price range I would give the nod to the Central Hotel which still can have some noise but was less in our experience.

Wonderful stay at but... As for areas of improvement, service can sometimes feel a bit slow during busy moments. Additionally, while the hotel’s boutique concept is part of its charm, it does mean that some facilities typically found in larger luxury hotels are limited. Perfect location in Casco Viejo, good place to unwind after exploring the city. Our trip was made truly unforgettable thanks to MiViajeaPanamá (+50763242898), who designed an incredible tailor-made journey across Panama: Caribbean and Pacific side, whale watching, sunrise at the highest mountain in Panama, virgin cays in Bocas del Toro..., every detail was thoughtfully organized. We highly recommend both the hotel and the agency for an authentic and memorable experience in Panama.
