Dunsol was a brilliant apartment. We had a top floor overlooking the pool. It had a kitchenette where we could cook dinners and lunches, with a bit of imagination being used without an oven, we got by no problem. The apartment was cleaned every other day with fresh towels and bedding. An excellent location, right by cita shopping centre and local restaurants nearby. We found out later on in the holiday that there is a shortcut to the beech without this short cut it was walking distance and not to much of treck but once we noticed the cut we realised you could practically see the beech from the hotel, with the comfort of being closed of from the main streets it was a nice quiet area. The WiFi was available from the room so we could check out what to do and where to go from the comfort of our room. It was so good we have already booked another say in the summer for 2 weeks. I honestly don't understand why people do not like it or have Somthing to complain about! Just info (not a problem) all staff and most people speak German so maybe brush up on a bit of German for your Ps+Qs. Thanks Or should I say danke sehr😃

“Little oasis”

Great clean spacious apartments near the centre. Secure gated property that is peaceful and well maintained. During my visit there were always sunbeds available. Bring your own kettle though and your own mug if you like a brew as there is only a coffee maker in the apartment and cups and saucers

My third review about properties in this part of town. First was the relatively Ritzy "Bungalows Doña Rosa", complete with luxurious air-con, then the air-con deprived but otherwise comparable "Bungalows Tajaraste" ( my reviews of both are on this website someplace ) which are a stone's throw away from the Dunasol, if you have a good throwing arm. This is my second foray into the world of the rented apartment in Playa del Ingles, the first being the very budget conscious "Fayna" which I didn't review. The Dunasol is a step above that accommodation, but it's a step up in price too. The location is fine, set back off the Avda. Alemania, about halfway between the Commercial Centres Sandia & Cita for those of you that know the area. The set up is a little odd as the proprietors seem to have bought two adjacent blocks and run them as a single enterprise. Judging by the posted rack rates the Dunasol is the superior property ( €90/night as opposed to €75 next door ). Reception was straightforward - although there are fixed opening times I'm told they will bend a little to accommodate arrivals outside them. The staff were helpful and friendly, especially when I managed to corrupt the magnetic strip on my room's key card by lying it on top of the magnet in my iPad's cover.... Thankfully I discovered that I'd effectively locked myself out while the office was open! There's all you could want from a small apartment. One good sized bedroom, a small but functional kitchenette ( microwave, ceramic hob with two rings, toaster, coffee maker, small but effective fridge ) a decent bathroom / shower and a lounge area with a flat screen TV showing 17 European channels and BBC World. It's perfectly spotless. No apartment has enough power points and this is no exception - but charging the iThings and running the kitchen didn't conflict all that often. There's a pay-to-use safe in one of the wardrobes, both of which have proper locks and removable keys if you want to keep the family heirlooms / Grandma's jewellery safe. To write your own review you'll need to get a wifi username and password from Reception - which is no problem - but it will only support one device at a time, so you'll spend a large chunk of your stay typing both if you have more than one wifi enabled gizmo. The sequence "W7Pab" will probably stay with me for the rest of my life ;-) The pool is perfectly OK, once you find it. ( HINT: If you lose your Dunasol wifi signal but can see sun beds then you've strayed into next door's pool area! However, they have a bar, unlike the Dunasol, so it's not all bad. ) Like all the accommodation around this part of town the clientele is primarily German, reflected in the nearby bars and restaurants. I have no problem with this. If something isn't right they have no qualms about making a fuss until it's fixed, thus saving nice polite English folk like me the embarrassment of having to complain about something that's not quite up to snuff and could anybody, you know, if they have a moment and it's not too much trouble, pop round and take a look at it? Direct buses from the airport ( 05, 66 & 90 ) run day and night and drop you off at the Cita - currently the fare is €3.50 each way - check the global.es website for up to date timetables and fares. If you're mob handed and can pile into a taxi that should come in at just under €40. It's worth an initial trip to LIDL or Mercadona in the north part of town ( San Fernando ) to stock up on household stuff and groceries - a taxi back laden with bottles of sunscreen, gin, after sun gel, vino, olive oil, beer, paella rice and other essential shopping won't cost more than €5 - and after that you can top up supplies of perishables at the slightly more expensive HyperDino Supermarket at the Sandia or the Mini HyperDino and SPAR outlets in the Cita. Not much is lacking in the kitchen, there's only one wooden chopping board, making dealing with raw chicken and then chopping salads a bit challenging, and whatever knives and corkscrews come supplied they're never up to much - so my essential " bring it along with you" list would be a sharp knife, a small plastic chopping board, wine stoppers - for regular and fizzy stuff and a decent corkscrew. Glancing through the other reviews I notice that reference is made to the daily arrival of the bin men. The wagon arrives between 6 and 7am, circumnavigates C Roma emptying four or five basuras along the way and then vanishes as quickly as it came. It's undoubtedly a noisy show as the din carries across the circle but it's soon over and as you're on holiday, rolling over and going back to sleep for a couple more hours should be no problem :-) Upsum: if you're looking for reasonably priced apartments in a quiet part of town ( though close enough to the Yumbo and Kasbah if you're feeling raucous and the beach if you get bored lying poolside ) then this would be a good choice, especially if you can get a discounted deal off your favourite hotel booking website.

To start with the good things, location is ideed superb - a few minutes walk from the beach (a better part of it, where you dont need another 15min to cross the dunes). Close to playa del inglese essential spots, yet in a calm place, off the main streets where you can easily park your rental car. As for the garbage truck, yes its noisy in the morning, but its crash, boom, bang and its gone. Worse for me was the cleaning truck sweeping the streets, running in circles at the speed of a turtle. It was rather noisy as well but spending much more time in one place. The place is indeed very clean, rather spacious (including spacy shower cabin). Te kitchen equipment is basic but does include everything you should need, and when there was problem with light it was quickly solved. The pool is nice, big, and well maintained. Now, on the downside, the internet connection is terribly slow. Good to read your daily news, but try browsing for attractions, search google maps... and you need to exercise every bit of patience you have. Finally and most importantly, they forgot to mention they redecorate the place. This wouldnt be a problem if not the terrible noise made by the crew stripping 10 apartments to bare concrete. Drilling, cutting nad hammering would made us nuts, and worse the reception staff wasnt helpful. Finally talked to the manager who was much more resonable and worked out a compromise. Still, this shouldnt have been done without warning guests in advance.
