We stayed October 22-29th as a family of 6 with 9 more family members meeting us there. Room was a two bedroom apartment with views of the pool. Couldn’t fault the apartment as everything you would need for a self catering holiday. Pool was great size. Indoor pool was great too. Pool bar had food which was value for money. Says there’s an onsite shop but it only has one or two things in it. Get a Uber to the local supermarket which is 10 minutes away in car and about 30 minutes walk. Free bus is brilliant and runs at 10 2 and 5 which takes you down to the beautiful village. Negatives are… around the pool doesn’t get cleaned so there was rubbish left from days before. Cracked tiles and floor by pool tables and in the pool itself. Internet isn’t available in rooms and free WiFi only works in reception.

We did get a good deal on the price of the holiday which will obviously have a bearing on this review. This is an old hotel with heavy dark Portuguese furniture, but it was all in good condition. It is quite a walk to the beach, restaurants and bars, about 25 minutes. The complex is laid out like a small village with roads running between the apartments, so if you have a hire car you can drive and park close to your apartment. The gardens are beautifully laid out with trees and flowers. There is a large swimming pool and sunbathing area with plenty of sunbeds in good condition and this is where the restaurant and bar is located. There is also an indoor pool with toilets and showers. Bearing in mind this is a 3 star hotel we thought the accommodation and facilities were very good. The apartment had a hallway, to the right was a large bathroom with an over bath shower, double sinks, toilet and bidet. To the left was the large kitchen which had table and chairs, fridge freezer (no ice cube tray, but we bought one from the supermarket), the back wall was full of kitchen units which held everything you could need to self cater. There was an oven with 2 ring induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and filter coffee machine. No mugs though so we bought two from the supermarket really cheap. Through a separate door was a large lounge area with an open fireplace, dining table and four chairs, sideboard, easy chair , sofa, coffee table and television. The upholstery on the sofa was grubby. Sliding doors led to a small patio with table and chairs. The bedroom was large with fitted wardrobes with drawers, dressing table, twin beds and bedside table. There is a clothes dryer and ironing board, but I didn't see an iron. There aren't many sockets and none close to the dressing table, we took an extension which was handy for the hairdryer and if you have lots of electronics to charge. Also there is no WiFi access other than at reception. The apartment, bedding and towels were all cleaned and changed regularly. Staff were all helpful and friendly. There is a complimentary mini bus transfer to the town three times a day, shout out to Nelson, the driver. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 10 nights from March 1st We stayed in apartment 2 near the pool. The Good = Apartments are very spacious well equipped for self catering. Cleaning of the rooms every other day although I had to request once. Restaurant food good and service. Now it goes down hill The Bad = Poor maintenance sockets hanging off the wall tv not working requested to be fixed without success reception hit and miss. The Ugly = The resort not ready for tourists when we stayed outdoor pool empty workmen repairing making a noise and no guarding around the works very dangerous. Also bins outside not emptied. Shuttle bus 3 times a day was helpful as we could not stay at the resort Would not stay again
