We booked this Hotel through Booking.com for a sea view room for a week. Check in was very smooth despite arriving at 10.30pm due to late flight. The room was on the fourth floor and had a sea view, it is a bit of a distance to the sea but it is a sea view. Only negative and not the Hotels fault, there is building work going on as they are selling off building plots behind the Hotel but the noise is minimal and does not effect your stay whatsoever. Hotel is extremely clean and the rooms are cleaned every day to a top standard. This Hotel was fantastic in our opinion, definitely feels 5 Star. Breakfast option was everything you would expect to deal with the wide range of worldwide visitors. The Pool area really is lovely. Cabanas are available at no cost, no need to rush down to reserve a bed or Cabana. Bar area available for food and drinks at reasonable prices. The Pool is a tad cold but once you are in, it's fine!!! They had a DJ on a couple of late afternoons for a couple of hours which was a nice touch. We didn't use the spa or Gym so cannot comment. The Hotel is a short taxi ride into Lagos, roughly 4 Euros by Uber and 6 Euros in a Taxi. The walk on the Boardwalk is stunning. Roughly 30 minutes, but a nice leisurely stroll into Lagos. Direct route walking on the roads is roughly 20 minutes. We used to walk in and get a Taxi back as it is uphill back. We loved Lagos, so friendly, loads of Restaurant and bar options and a lovely town to walk around. The Bar area in the Hotel is very good but because most people venture into Lagos, It's not busy enough. Maybe introduce an Happy Hour to encourage hotel residents to mingle if they want to. To conclude, we loved this Hotel and will definitely be returning. Editory By The Sea Lagos Hotel presents like a 5 star hotel. It is modern, beautiful and very clean. The staff are all incredible and seem to genuinely care. Upon arrival, we were not happy with our room as we were near the housekeeping closet. I went to the front desk and luckily they were able to change our room. Daniela, who should be promoted to Manager, was outstanding. She cared and wanted to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Whoever is in charge of training the staff should be commended. Every staff member we encountered was polite, helpful and went above and beyond. They always asked how our day was. After a week at the Editory, which felt like home, we moved to what we thought was a 5 star resort in Carvoeiro. They could learn a lot from the Editory. Daniela and team, thank you for an amazing stay! It was our second time in Lagos and we will be back. We loved The Editory.

“A relaxing week in the Algarve”

This is a beautiful, new hotel with spacious rooms and a great size balcony. Decor was very neutral and beachy which fits the setting it’s in. Pool towels are provided, and can be changed daily at reception. Towels for showering were also changed daily. Water is provided free of charge every day in the room, and the cleaning was to a very high standard. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room, as well as a mini fridge and safe. Only drawback to our room was that the bathroom door appeared to be too large for the frame, but this is only minor and we reported it on checkout. Contrary to other reviews, breakfast was a very good selection of fruits, continental cheeses and meats, hot cooked options (including hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, sausages), pastries, cakes and cereals. We never had to wait to be seated, and the staff turned round tables quickly. The swimming pool area was well landscaped with a good amount of single sunbeds, as well as bean bags and double cabana style sunbeds. The pool water is rather cold which is a shame, but again only a minor issue. The poolside bar had a good selection of drinks, lunch dishes and ice creams, and the staff were very attentive ☺️ The spa area was okay, with a sauna, steamroom, showers and a indoor pool (which again was rather cold). It was disappointing that on one of the days there was a large group of young boys being extremely loud and splashing/ diving in which did take away from the relaxing environment you would expect but again this was raised with the reception at the time. Its about a 25 minute walk down to the old town, and 10 minutes to praia dona ana beach. We got a taxi back from the Old Town each night as it is all up hill but these are very affordable. All in all a great week stay and I would recommend ☺️
