Just returned from this hotel and I can highly recommend a stay here . The rooftop pool area is lovely , as is the restaurant and reception. Very clean and well maintained. The food was lovely at both breakfast and dinner . The location made it really easy to get out & about to the beach and eateries . I honestly cannot fault this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here .

Had a great 5 days here with my mum for a relaxing break. Weather was warm, a little cloudy and a few showers but we expect that for March. Spa was super chilled just book a time slot at reception and remember a swim hat. I had a 55 minute full body massage and it was amazing, managed to book it for the same day and 10% off for been a hotel guest. The staff from reception, restaurant, spa & cleaning were all great, friendly & helpful. Our room was good, the shower was powerful and the table & chairs on the balcony were good to relax. The shower gel and things smell amazing not the usual cheap hotel bits. The lifts didnt ever seem to have a wait which we have experienced at other locations for meal times We were half board. We didnt struggle to get a table but as the space is quite small it was tight to manoeuvre around the food table at times. This can be a sided by choosing a quieter time or people being more aware when blocking space or hanging around. We found plenty options for breakfast : Cereal Fruit Toast Cooked sausage bacon egg beans mushrooms tomatoes Pancakes Pastries and cakes Fruit juices Hot drinks Many types of milk, jams and spreads My only comment if been picky was that each table seemed to have 1 knife & fork but such as myself having lots of different items i will use more than one set of cutlery switching from savoury to sweet but it wasn't easy to find more. We had drinks & cocktails during the day on a few occasions and I found the cocktail menu a good selection and fair price. Evening meal has been described as others as not many options. I disagree as there has always been A meat option A soup A fish option A pasta Steamed vegetables Salad Cold meat and cheese A selection of bread rolls A potato option Fruit A choice of cakes Though the area is not as big as some hotels there are easily enough options to enjoy your meal. There is also a normal menu with things like burgers and steaks if you dont like the buffet. Again a comment if I had to give constructive criticism sometimes we were seated for evening meal and began getting food from the buffet without having our drinks order taken. It is not great eating with no drink so may be worth discussing with the servers. After our evening meal we often had another drink but if the restaurant gets busy you do feel a little like you should move on with it being all in one area ( no seperate bar ) The rooftop pool was brilliant and so relaxing. Im sure it will be very busy in the summer. The beach is close by and a very relaxing place with a few bars and restaurants ( some were closed due to been out of season as to be expected ) We didnt go out on a night as there didnt seem to be much of a night life which was fine for us. Lots of the surroundings buildings are houses so not much noise/traffic. Over all we loved our first visit to Monte Gordo and to this hotel. I would recommend for a relaxing break, fitness enthusiasts or others wanting peace. I would not suggest for bringing children, if you are wanting evening entertainment or if you like a busy livley resort as that is not the aim of this. Thankyou to all the team who welcomed us and especially the bar staff who made my cocktails picture worthy for my friends back home

Enjoyed our 4 night break at this hotel. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, the hotel is fresh & clean and the breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice. It’s only a short walk from the little town and beach area. Although it has a pool on the rooftop it is only small with few sun beds which get snapped up quickly. The only issue we had was for two women in a twin room there is no storage. The wardrobe space is tiny and only three drawers. No storage in the bathroom either so we had to ask for a spare chair to hang our clothes over. The rooms need reorganising to include bedside tables with drawers, change the table for the kettle etc to include drawers. Must have been designed by a man as not many plug sockets either! Will definitely return as the Monte Gordo Tavira area is lovely.
