We spent 7 nights at Pestana Cidadela Cascais, and from the very first day it was an incredible experience. We stayed in a beautiful room with a large balcony and a stunning view over the marina and the ocean. Waking up to that view every morning was a real joy. The setting itself is simply amazing. Staying inside a historic fort, right next to the marina, feels completely unique and special. This trip was especially important to us, as I proposed to my partner during our stay, and the hotel team played a huge role in making it perfect. A very special thank you to Vera, who helped me organize everything with exceptional responsiveness, care, and discretion. Every surprise was perfectly timed, all the details were there, and everything felt very natural and effortless. The entire team was consistently friendly, professional, and discreet, always present when needed and never intrusive. It truly felt like we were being looked after in the best possible way. I had also booked the romantic package and a charcuterie board, and both were beautifully done. The room was prepared with great care and attention to detail, and the charcuterie board was generous and delicious, with excellent local products. The hotel’s restaurant, Taberna da Praça, was outstanding. The food is authentic and refined. We are big cheese lovers, and discovering the very rustic aged goat cheese from Chiba Cheese, as well as sheep butter, was an incredible find. The wine recommendations were excellent, and the desserts were absolutely gorgeous. We also loved the spa and indoor pool, which were incredibly relaxing, especially with the water at 28.5°C. Breakfast was another daily highlight, with a huge choice of quality Portuguese products and a breakfast team that was always warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. We will remember this experience all our lives. A beautiful place, incredible food, and above all, a team that truly cares. Huge thanks to the entire team. We will definitely come back.

Cascais is a beautiful Portuguese town If you want the best views, comfortable rooms, professional and friendly staff, then the Pestana Cidadela is the hotel for you. We upgraded to a view of the marina, and so pleased we did, even in December it was warm enough to sit outside, we watched the sea crashing against the marina wall, it was spectacular. We enjoyed a really good buffet breakfast, a good selection of fruit, bread, cheese, meats, cakes and a hot selection for a great British breakfast. The bedroom and bathroom are a good size, with a very comfortable bed. The hotel provided a complimentary 24 hour voucher to visit a number of museums, including the lighthouse, the view from the top of the lighthouse of Cascais is amazing. Hopefully one day we will return for another week at this hotel.

“Lovely stay in Cascais”

Great location for Cascais. Close to town but not too busy. Stylish art hotel with great sea views. Staff are very well-trained, friendly and attentive both at reception and in the breakfast room with Ana, Arefin and Arthur.
