The Amarello Hotel is a wonderful escape — elegant yet unpretentious, with all the right touches. The rooms are fresh and beautifully designed, with crisp sheets, plush towels, and everything you need to feel at home. The rooftop deck and pool are both excellent spots to unwind, and the bar serves genuinely good food — the pica-pau was especially memorable. What really sets the hotel apart is the staff. Everyone we met was exceptionally kind and eager to help. We arrived early and were given a meeting room to take a Zoom call without hesitation. Later, we were surprised with an upgraded room — a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The location is ideal: just a short drive (or an easy walk) to the beach and lagoon. The beach itself is stunning — quiet, clean, and perfect for sunset walks. The nearby lagoon offers extraordinary birdwatching, and while the town is small and low-key, there’s a local market and a few simple restaurants that add to its charm. Close to Melides and Sines, the Amarelo Hotel feels tucked away but still connected — and at a very fair price. It’s an excellent base for exploring the Alentejo coast, and we’ll definitely be back.

Overall, my stay at the Tapestry Hotel was very good, a sentiment driven entirely by the phenomenal team working there. While I did encounter a couple of issues during my visit, the staff were so super helpful and wonderful that they resolved every issue quickly and efficiently. They truly are problem-solvers, and their attentive service is the hotel's biggest asset. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, offering a charming and serene escape. It is situated in a wonderfully quiet area, which makes for a restful stay. However, be advised: if you don’t like mosquitos, you will need to come prepared with repellent, especially if enjoying the outdoor spaces in the evening. Dining here was a mixed experience. The breakfast spread is great—yummy, fresh, and offers fantastic variety to start the day. I looked forward to it every morning. Unfortunately, the main restaurant dinner was a letdown. I tried the octopus, and honestly, it just did not taste good; it felt like a significant miss in quality and flavor. Finally, a note on the accommodations: the twin room is lovely, but the individual beds are simply too small. If you are sharing a twin room, be prepared for narrow sleeping quarters. Despite the room size and the dinner, the hotel's beauty and the unparalleled dedication of the staff ensured the trip was positive. I would certainly recommend staying here.
